It appears that he would have been removed, & prevented from joining in the new session, which is why he resigned.

@ArtCandee Didn't realize this committee was a court of law. If he has been accused of anything, he should go through the court system, not the kangaroo court. Remember innocent until proven guilty. And we have seen within this committee setting people lying and unproven statements

@Mollyploofkins It needs to be a carefully crafted blanket pardon without specific names attached. Otherwise it could be used to sully the reputations of outstanding public servants. The kind of pardon that tells DOJ “You can’t even go there.”

@RepRibble @ronsterd89 You either don't understand or are equivocating. The definition of entitlement related to SS is that the government is required to pay the benefits. That is what Congress, SSA, and the law mean. They don't mean that people are entitled. Equivocation causes these arguments.

@statswithcats @ronsterd89 Ok, you want to play semantics, fine. I never said you were entitled to the dollars you paid in. I said you were entitled under the program for the benefits. SSA calls it an entitlement. Congress call it an entitlement and the SS Act called it an entitlement. Give it a rest.

Social Security is NOT an entitlement. We paid into it our whole working lives to have a little security when we are too old to work. It’s not the government’s money. It’s the people who paid into to it. Illegals should get NOTHING. They didn’t work and pay into to it. What amount seniors get is based on a percentage of what they paid into. So no, it’s NOT an entitlement, it’s their money not the government’s.

@RepRibble @ronsterd89 To paraphrase, "you qualify for benefits by fulfilling the requirements of the entitlement program," not limited to just OASDI and age. Once you pay OASDI taxes, the funds are no longer yours any more than income taxes are.
