Whitney Cummings dropped that on Bill Maher’s Club Random while talking about soy milk.
She drank it for 20 years because everyone said it was healthy. Now she looks around at the hormone chaos in her circle and wonders how they all got sold on it so hard. Bill was right there with her: “Soy? I always avoided it. Something felt fishy.”
It spiraled into bigger questions — the food pyramid pushed by big companies, studies that feel shaky when you actually think about them, and how easily we accept “official” advice without asking who benefits.
I never touched soy milk and always side-eyed those trends, but I totally get why people trusted it. The messaging was everywhere, backed by “science,” until it wasn’t.
Stories like this are a reminder to stay skeptical of health fads sold as gospel. What seems harmless today can quietly reshape lives years later.

The Hilton donated the ~2600 dinners that went unserved at WHCD. They freeze dried the steak and lobster for longer shelf life before giving them to 2 shelters for abused women and children. HUGE thank you to the staff that worked through the night under terrible circumstances.

I wasn’t happy when Clinton, Obama or Biden won, but I didn’t call them fascist/dangerous/threat to democracy. I didn’t hope someone would assassinate them. I went on with my life with gratitude. Friends on the left, please try this. Your life and our country will be better.

A man who was out on his personal watercraft off the coast of North Carolina found himself surrounded by sharks in a “feeding frenzy” on April 13. The man, Brett Barley, captured footage of the moment he spotted what he initially thought was a small group of sharks feeding on a large school of baitfish. As he moved in closer to film, a much larger group of sharks suddenly surfaced around him, encircling his watercraft.

I have to disagree with Jon on this. Any golfer playing at the masters could have done the same and chose not to. He wanted to win the second time and did what he needed to do. Other golfers could have done the same. This sort of reeks of sports socialism to me. Because other golfers did not do it, even though they could have done it, we should penalize Rory.

A lot of the conversation around Rory McIlroy's "unfair advantage", especially from golf media, is completely missing the point... There's no reason there shouldn't be a cap on the amount of times golfers can play Augusta the month prior to The Masters, whether they're past champs or not. This ensures there isn't a blatant competitive disparity. Yes, golfers that qualify for the tournament can access the course the month prior, but everyone can't skip three straight tournaments* & fly private whenever they want to Augusta. *Again, this encourages top golfers to skip tournaments, devaluing those tournaments for broadcast partners, patrons, & sponsors. For example, if the cap is 3-4 practice rounds at Augusta the month prior to the tournament, consider them like timeouts. Use them or lose them. Problem solved. Debate over. Past champions still get their well-deserved perks, but they don't get a blatant unfair advantage.
