problem with student loans is not how much they cost... it is really 2 fold....
First it is how much they let you borrow without any consideration for what degree you are getting what the prospective avg salary will be compared to what the payment will be....
Second is student loans are not a loan at all.... it is a student Credit card with monthly compounding intrest.... it is not a loan in how most people identify or think of a loan in the context of a car loan or mortgage with fixed borrowed amount, at a fixed intrest rate, with a fixed payment, for a fixed number of months....

I read a comment today that I can’t stop thinking about.
A woman responding to student loan wage garnishments restarting said:
“Go ahead and garnish my wages. It’s cheaper than my repayment plan.”
Think about how broken that system has to be.
When people are so financially crushed that having the government forcibly take money from their paycheck sounds more affordable than the official payment option… something is deeply wrong.

Nothing would better for anyone in the supply chain through to the consumer. It would create new jobs at great expense.
