@HealingMindsTW I work with bariatric patients as a psych - currently, finding it difficult to find a good ED screener for this population. I know some have suggested amending the EDE-Q, but wondering what your thoughts are?

Just about to start a debate #EASD2023 with my good friend Prof Roy Taylor (DIRECT Remission Trial) If you had T2 diabetes - would you go on an 800 calorie diet for 12 weeks followed by a low cal diet?

@MountSinaiEWDP In terms of restructuring the EDE-Q to be more accurate - is there any forward momentum on this??

Check out our research at the #EDRS (Eating Disorder Research Society). We found ESEM to be a better model fit for assessing eating disorders in bariatric patients over the commonly used EDE-Q.This is crucial in preventing poor surgical & psychiatric outcomes in #bariatricsurgery.

@contextdogs Hiccups are fairly common in puppies, but I have never seen them in an adult dog! Is the same true of people I wonder??? I don't hiccup any more but I did as a child...

@contextdogs If you look at the pupils of this dog, you can see they are very dilated. This is a sign of adrenal system activation - fear/anxiety. He isn't happy with this handling, and is politely trying to tell the person this. Dogs put up with so much, we don't deserve them!

Lots of videos and images alleging to show Russian attacks on Ukrainian towns and cities going viral on social media already. It is customary for old or false footage to go viral during a conflict, so please try to verify or check the source of the footage you see before sharing.

In Australia we’ve seen huge growth for commercial foods for toddlers. Many products reference whole fruit, but in reality are processed sugars harmful to children’s health. @_rclemons #kidsaresweetenough

A diet w >80% of ultra-processed foods caused a 500 kcal per day increase comprd w unprocessed diet .In 2 weeks, subjects on ultra-processed diet gained 0.9 kg while subjects on the unprocessed diet lost 0.9 kg even tho both were matched for energy, macronutrients fibre & sodium.
