@NaughtalieStone Life doesn’t always make sense, but love remains.💖

(trigger warning)
1 year ago on this day - my life changed when a fire destroyed my home and all of my worldly possessions. Looking back, I realize that rebuilding was never an option. For me, the only path was building something new.
The loss was ceremonial in its magnitude, the experience fortified me and my values, my sense of self, and ultimately, I think set me on a course that will be more in alignment with who I can and hope to be. The fire taught me a new radical form of bravery - it showed me that what you build in life is in your love and your word. And yes in fact, that having both mean much much more than anything else.
A few months later, my life changed again. While many of you reading likely know about the fire and likely supported me, few know that I then recieved the incredible blessing of a surprise and beautifully unexpected pregnancy. We were thrilled, we named him Felix for the joy he returned once again to our lives.
And yet, Felix was not meant for this earth and his heartbeat eventually just stopped. I remember at that point being quite angry, blurry in my anger - angry at God, angry at myself, angry at just the unfairness, unable to see the silver lining despite relentlessly searching for one.
The grief compounded in some ways, but it also reordered the grief. I don’t cry about the fire, but I do cry quite often about Felix.
I also still smile more often than I cry. Ultimately, that’s what’s natural for me. And the naturally, I work too much. I feel real purpose within that work, but sometimes worry if I work because at least a+b=c there.
I don’t really know what / why I’m writing this here. I though one day everyone would read a post with about blooming baby boy or belly, and we’d all feel closure. That my story mattered. That it would fit neatly into a nice ending, and that life’s trajectory would finally make sense.
But sometimes things don’t make sense. There are no silver linings. A + B doesn’t equal C.
Life does not explain itself. Loss does not justify itself. Meaning is not guaranteed.
And yet, here I am. Here we are one year later.
Onwards. Through. Anew.

@RalphSigg @ToledoMuseum @icsimd If you walk through a digital art exhibition and realize you already know every piece — and half the artists are in your gallery — you’re definitely on the right track.

One for the history books 🧱✨
If there’s one Punks Brunch I’ll remember forever, it’s this one in Basel. Stefanie & Ralph turned their home into a true family table — real trust, real stories, real community.
Hyped to welcome you to the bricks fam.
We build together. ❤️

taking a break rn and won’t be responsive for a bit 🤍please don’t take it personally.
life has been teaching me about the concentric circles of life and meaning-making: i tend to give energy to too many outer rings while neglecting the center (me). tbh - there’s something profound about summer reset that feels nostalgic and necessary right now. the last time I took an extended break, well… covid happened, so apologies in advance. but also not sure the world could be much crazier and btw hope everyone is doing ok out there.
I know it seems rather silly and presumptuous to do some public announce about time off, but here it is. looking forward to returning as the summer ends...and diving deep into all that is blooming with you. 🐚

@ArtOnBlockchain Love it! Thanks a lot. Will try it asap.
I have a machine and have digitilized our punks and stitched them - and we wear it with pride!
Looking forward to see more punks!

Hey Punks!
Exactly 8 years ago (to the minute) I claimed my first punk. In the years since we've seen a ton of incredible ways the community has shown up for the project and created public goods for the ecosystem and here's yet one more for y'all to nerd out on.
Excited to share a fun little tool for y'all I've been working on with @generativegoods and embroidery wizard @DaCaldera. Put your @cryptopunks punkID in the box and get professional quality DST (embroidery) files of your punk in a variety of sizes.
I see people wearing their punks all the time and after spending the last few years deeply studying machine embroidery understand how annoying and complex it can be to get a good digitized version of your punk.
A good digitization can cost $100 and that's for a single sized output.
The punk embroidery generator will give you a range of sizes in stitch-perfect outputs for any of the 10k punks plus for the DIY folks a cross-stitch pattern for you to make your own by hand (s/o to @flakoubay and @RachelSTWood who completed theirs of @NaughtalieStone's #98 recently 🙌).
We've put some instructions on the site to help you through the process, plus some embroidery machine recommendations in case you want to go all out and make them look at feel professional.
Note: GenGoods is not set up to do the embroidery for these (our system uses the same 15 colors across all our projects and Punks use way more colors across all the various outputs) but the downloads on the site give you exactly what you need to walk into any embroidery shop and have them make your punk for you. We suggest thread colors in the tool but that's just to get you started. A good embroidery shop will have tons to pick from so just pick the colors that best match your punk.
Anyways we thought it would be a fun way to celebrate the punks 8th anniversary with this fun little tool. Can't wait to see what y'all make with this.
Enjoy! 🍻
