@Osinttechnical Twelve mines is not an effective mining campaign. They'll be LUCKY to have a single mine triggered. They'll need to deploy about a thousand to effectively mine a strait as wide as Hormuz. Of course, mining an international strait is a war crime, so.....

Iran has deployed at least a dozen Maham-3 and Maham-7 naval mines into the Strait of Hormuz -US officials to CBS Both types are capable mines equipped with magnetic and acoustic sensors fused to hundreds of pounds of explosives.

@TaeKahn @Ohthejoy17 @IntVideos_x yes, because that was a sniper, and not a "close in assasination" attempt - the one this guy there trains for. Look what it is in the briefcase of the secret-service.

@djcows @grok you dont need to use water. you can use liquids with way lower boiling temperatures - or stirling enginges. Only thing is, the lower the temperature on the outside, the better it works.

@grok is it possible to operate GPUs at a high enough temp to make this feasible and lower the electricity consumption of a datacenter?

@Ohthejoy17 @IntVideos_x not realy look at the secret service. They are trained - if there is a thread - to fire full auto into the crowd to clear a path. Fire first, questions later.

@IntVideos_x What about identifying the threat first? He's just shooting all in proximity. What if it's just the pizza dude standing behind him? I guess they do things differently in Russia...

@FitFusion__ You dont smelt candes direct over a Heat source. Especally old candles. You smelt them First in hot water. - the way float above, impurities sinkt down. Then you smelt them again With indirekt Heat Exchange in a Walter bath.

Multiple large fires burn at the Ras Laffan Industrial City to the north of Doha, Qatar, following several Iranian ballistic missile strikes in retaliation for Israel’s attack Wednesday against natural gas processing facilities in Southern Iran.

@KersevanRoberto @Jordan_W_Taylor yeah, but actually: The blades have an angle that creates an airflow like a turbine -> create a "downforce" the lower blades cancel the vortex and create another downforce and so on.

@steger_daniel @Jordan_W_Taylor It is as efficient as the laws of physics and material strength allow it to be. The peripheral velocity of the blades must be of the order of the mean velocity of the gas molecules to be pumped. For N2 it is 480 m/s at 20C. If you back-calculate the RPM required to get to that..

Free molecular flow! In high vacuum, the mean free path of an air molecule is so large that normal flow breaks down and starts to behave like an infinite pinball machine... so you need a turbomolecular pump! And if you want to lower pressure even more, it gets even weirder.

Die 80er Jahre in Deutschland waren so silly; sie haben einen Tarnkappenjet entworfen und ihn „Glühwürmchen“ genannt. Dann kam die CIA und hat uns verboten, das Ding auf das Fließband zu bringen.

@steger_daniel @Jordan_W_Taylor No. Turbo pumps need a mechanical pump of some kind to make a rough vacuum on its high-pressure side. Can’t work against atmospheric pressure, backflow would win.

US troops report commanders framing Iran war as ‘God’s plan’ —— As first reported by independent journalist Jonathan Larsen, a US combat-unit commander told non-commissioned officers that the war on Iran is part of “God’s divine plan,” allegedly claiming President Donald Trump was “anointed by Jesus” to ignite Armageddon. The complaint, filed with the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, is one of more than 110 logged within 48 hours from over 40 units across at least 30 installations. Complainants, including Christians, a Muslim, and a Jew, have requested anonymity to avoid retaliation. The Pentagon has yet to respond. According to MRFF President Mikey Weinstein, service members report “unrestricted euphoria” among segments of the chain of command portraying the assault on Iran as biblically sanctioned and tied to end-times prophecy in the Book of Revelation. One NCO wrote that such rhetoric is eroding morale and violating constitutional oaths, particularly for troops in Ready-Support status who could be deployed at any moment. The controversy unfolds as Secretary of War Pete Hegseth expands overt evangelical programming within the Pentagon, including prayer sessions and Bible studies aligned with staunch pro-Israel theology. Weinstein reports that many US commanders appear particularly enthused by the prospect of an intensely violent confrontation, emphasizing how much bloodshed they believe is necessary to align events with a fundamentalist Christian end-times narrative.
