hi. sharing my last words as i officially say goodbye to the ship. read or donʼt, your choice. :)
first of all, i cannot stress enough that the disappointment is not because sheʼs being linked romantically to someone else. please do not reduce us to controlling fans who do not know how to respect their idolʼs personal life. majority of us, mb fans (at least those that i know of), were here for the beautiful friendship that had been organically formed between the two inside the pbb house. as shippers, we hoped for that friendship to develop into something more, but we were fully content with what they had. after pbb, we had no expectations except for maybe a few guestings and interviews here and there as the big winner. in fact, a lot of us were already planning to leave the fandom after pbb, but suddenly, the two received plenty of projects, individually and together, and knowing how long they had prayed for that moment, how we had prayed with them, it felt right to continue supporting them. so no, it was never about “putting chains around their necks and dictating who they should or shouldn’t be with.”
the disappointment is because of the dishonesty and deception (letʼs not sugarcoat and call it for what it is) on her part, backed by her friends and people close to her. her friends dropped multiple exclusive “ayuda” multiple times and led us on, letting us believe that we were correct in thinking that mb had something more than friendship going on. they were simply too involved, and we were too happy to feel their support that we didnʼt immediately realize how parasocial it was. there even came a point when we defended them against malicious comments from the other side, calling them clout chasers. looking back now and seeing how silent they have suddenly become amidst the issue, i canʼt help but wonder if the comments were right all along.
as for herself, she kept saying that she didnʼt want to be called a love team with him, because being one would suggest that they were just colleagues and the term was simply too shallow to encapsulate the kind of relationship that they had. maybe that was true, because while we can argue about a lot of things, we can all agree that every moment that they shared inside the house was genuine and pure. fan service in the industry was normal, but the line started to blur when she said that they were simply being real when doing fan service. from that statement, anyone would deduce what you see is what you get, that they were no different on-camera than they were off-camera. what i donʼt understand, though, was her going as far as liking multiple x posts about mikbrent being real but lowkey, private but not secret, et cetera, if it was not true. why would she do that? with so much belief in her honesty and integrity as a person, we, shippers, made our own assumptions, and that was our only mistake—believing in the words of someone we loved and looked up to.
