@stephcarroll_4 No surprises here. Potentially AA this year

Going to be a great finals series, regardless who they’ve played this season, I’m tipping hawks to go all the way. Speed and tenacity 😬 #aflw
English

@NicNegrepontis The Hawks took a different path - focused on organic growth and embedding the W through the club via 2017 Box Hill Hawks into 2018 Hawthorn Hawks and so on. Some of the foundation clubs quite simply just didn’t get their processes and whole club but in right. Now it shows.

Every inaugural Victorian #AFLW team missed the 8 this year.
Not sure why they think Blues, Pies or Dogs fans in particular should care about the comp when the league has very clearly sacrificed their on-field success for the *“greater good”*.

@AdamMeakins You’re a healthcare professional - first do no harm. So ask yourself first, is the sharing of my opinions helpful or harmful? In this case, harmful, absolutely not helpful. You’re also free to admit when you’re wrong. Arrogance is not a virtue.
English

@stephcarroll_4 Last I checked I’m free to express my opinions and thoughts on social media… or isn’t that allowed these days as well!

Here’s a corrected update on the post below due to new information being presented to me! #OlympicGames #Boxing

Let’s talk, witches.
Specifically, let’s talk about @AwareSuper.
Because this company sponsor the @AwareTheatre, where Donald Trump Jnr. will (at this stage) speak to an audience of up to 8,000 people on July 9th. And if you’re anything like us, you want to know why such a company would have anything to do with this fucking guy.
Sure, he’s not his dad. But where he wants the world to head is not only abhorrent, it’s not what Australia stands for or will tolerate.
On the surface, you’d think Aware Super would agree with that. Their website talks the big talk about climate change, Indigenous rights and other social justice issues, yet their actions here don’t align with those stated values. Particularly on issues to do with women.
For example, their website talks extensively about all the ways they welcome and help women, and it sounds great:
aware.com.au/womenandsuper
They really look like they’re across issues to do with women’s empowerment and financial security. Here’s a direct quote from their article about the gender pay gap:
“Businesses that implement gender equality measures see improvements in productivity, retention and morale overall. All of which means closing the gap isn’t just about doing the right thing. It’s also about doing right by your business. And that’s something that’s good for everyone.”
Sounds good, right? Sounds like they care A LOT about women’s futures.
But how can we believe they care when they sponsor a venue which will shortly host Trump Jnr? A man who made a #MeToo rape joke in 2019? A man who in 2021, mocked black women after they protested about safeguarding their right to vote? Who (also in 2021) said his father’s history of sexual misconduct “makes him human”? Who said in 2016 that women who can’t handle workplace sexual harassment should become kindergarten teachers? Who openly demeans transgender women? And who in 2017 defended his father when he said “both sides” were responsible for a protest rally where a progressive woman was killed by a white supremacist who drove his car into marchers?
How the FUCK can Aware Super claim any sort of consideration for women when they permit the venue *named after them* to host this kind of execrable bullshit?
We have to fight back, witches.
We have to make them agree Trump Jnr. has no place in their venue. Because Australian women’s superannuation fees are PAYING FOR Trump Jnr’s appearance in July, and Australian women (and all the men who support them) should say NO FUCKING WAY.
Aware Super are an Industry Super Fund who also now control a number of other funds such as VicSuper. Hundreds of thousands of Aussies have funds linked to Aware Super. And Aware Super also have hundreds (perhaps thousands) of staff who are women.
This is NOT FUCKING OKAY.
Please, witches, get involved. Follow and retweet us. Read our pinned tweet and website (in bio) to understand more about what we do and why it works. Most importantly, send an email or DM or make a phone call to Aware Super today, telling them you object to this bullshit. Here are the contact deets:

You can also find their social media accounts (to send them a DM) on their website, here:
aware.com.au/about/culture/…
And for more instructions about how to protest the upcoming Trump talk, please read this tweet we posted yesterday about our new campaign:
x.com/mfwitches/stat…
We’ll re-tweet anyone who gets in touch with Aware Super this week and tweets about it using the hashtag #DumpTrumpAU. Let us know how you go talking to them, and post screenshots of any written replies you get.
Because we’re NOT FUCKING GOING AWAY, and we’re going to hold Aware Super to account.
If Donald Trump Jnr. is coming here to protest the “wokeness” of Australians, let’s show him the most woke fucking wokety-wokeness he’s ever fucking seen.
Are you in?

@LaurenHeraldSun @superfooty Thanks for writing Lauren and thanks for sharing El.
El is a fantastic person. I can’t wait to see them play now they feel more like themself. Can do anything.
Perhaps turn comments off as ignorant people don’t have the bandwidth or care to engage without being hateful.

“I’m just human.”
El Chaston is finally at peace with their body after “life-changing” surgery. On how “every day it was a battle to find comfort in my own body”, how their family took the news & the moment the bandages were removed. heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/aflw…

@Eurostar Also, a voucher to use the ticket in 2
months is completely useless when you live in Australia.

Due to strike action in France today 14/05/2023 train 9011 has been cancelled. To find out about your options, please visit bit.ly/32w1Gep. Our trains and stations are very busy today. Please only travel if necessary. We're sorry for the inconvenience caused.
English

@Eurostar Are you actually sorry? We’re missing an important event in London now. A once in a lifetime opportunity. Why did you not communicate the strike yesterday or even early this morning advise trains cancelled? At least then we had chance to get a flight. Not now.
English

around for hours at the terminal, going through border security then having to wait go back through security again. Not to mention $$$ to now book flights. Looking forward to a full refund please. #frustrated #disappointed
English

Thanks @Eurostar for ruining what was a lovely stay in Paris. Strike, that’s your right, but maybe give some warning so other travel arrangements can be made. Instead we will now miss out on a once in a lifetime opportunity to be a part of a sell out crowd to watch the Women’s FA

@VFL 3pm Sunday is a horrendous time slot. Players lose their whole weekend and then work the next morning. Not to mention coaches trying to get match reviews ready before next training session.

At 37, I’m officially old. The @triplej hottest 100 was very lacklustre. Spacey Jane is a snooze fest. Maybe it’s me being old but just not the same punch as the hottest 100s of 10 years ago. #hottest100

@hutchy_25 @SharniNorder Proper programming. Don’t have to think, just go in and do it, knowing you are getting good training. Then add the community onto that. It really filled the gap that sport had left.

@hutchy_25 @SharniNorder Hard agree on that. I started post footy retirement and haven’t stopped. Wish I was doing it when playing, much fitter and stronger now.

@HawkTalkPod Katie has been an amazing supporter and advocate for Hawks VFLW and AFLW. She’s been at the vast majority of matches, even when the VFLW side was struggling in 2021. Working behind the scenes and showing up to support. Has my vote.

Well, we said it was going to be a big week for the podcast! Two more unmissable episodes, this time with special guests James Merlino and Katie Hudson. Get yourself up to speed with all the big issues! 🎙️️

@ChrisFitzMelb @BaronvonKlar @bennyshelts @aflwomens @AFL It’s not that simple. It’s about the best stadium for players and fans, wherever that may be.
Given you feel so strongly about it, I hope you purchase tickets to the match. I’m sure you’ve been to all the Lions AFLW home games too.
English

The AFLW administration is bloody infuriating @aflwomens @AFL
The average GF attendance is 23,000. Cool, let’s play somewhere that has never hosted a match before and has a capacity for 8,000.
Not to mention the injury risk with the surface.
