@Paytress A wonderful piece of music . My parents used to play it when I was young and I’ve grown to appreciate it even more with age .

I was listening to Man at the weekend. Thus inspired, I decided to read this book again. One of the greatest books about being in a band that's ever been written. Deke Leonard truly was a legend

@Gjh2541 Very jealous ! I went to so many gigs between ‘86 / ‘90 I’m amazed I missed them . I have the brilliant live album ‘For Sale : Live At Maxwells’ plus the book ‘Trouble Boys’ . What a band !

@stephen_noyce Saw them at King Tuts on their final tour for All Shook Down. Told PW he was one of the greats after the show, and he shrugged and said "yeah, whatever, man" 😀 Saw him twice after solo. Evertime, brilliant.

@stephen_noyce Paul Westerberg is one of the greatest songwriters ever. Shame he seems to have no interest in making music at all, nowadays.

@DreamWeaver909 @andrewbrooks Fabulous . Great if those tapes have been cleaned up but I love the noise / hiss / atmosphere on those original tapes as well . Why are those tapes not talked about much in general ? I think they contain some of the most brilliantly unhinged rock n roll ever .

@ThatEricAlper Normally I would answer with a Beatles song - but Black Sabbath really hit the roof with this one. I still remember what I was doing when I heard the opening track for the first time back in 1970.

@ElliottBlackwe3 There’s A Certain Slant Of Light shook me to the core when I first read it . It really moves me . It led me to reading all of her work , which led me to Seamus Heaney , which led me to Sylvia Plath …

What is a book that you consider indespencible in your life? The Complete Poems of Emily Dickinson is one of mine.

@lennylaw @KateGarnerMusic My sister and I have played all our lives ( she piano , me guitar ) . It’s got me through life I think , I’ve managed to (just about) earn a living from it for the last 30 years and it keeps me happy . I really don’t know what I’d do without music .

@stephen_noyce @KateGarnerMusic Very much so. My mum played piano until the day she died, my dad could get a tune out of anything. They didn’t push me into music but I picked up the guitar at 14 and taught myself. My personal feeling is that I should’ve been a drummer - it’s one of my things for retirement.

@Gjh2541 @lennylaw @KateGarnerMusic Ha ha , no but her front room quite often resembled a Mrs Mills album cover - a piano , lots of people drinking and chatting , and an all-round atmosphere of merriment 🤣

@_thisheat_ Simon Reynolds was a huge influence on my record buying habits in the late ‘70s and ‘80s . That influence lasts to this day . Great band and what a fabulous box set .

@lennylaw @KateGarnerMusic What a fabulous picture ! So much joy there . That’s very similar to when my nan played - aunts , uncles , grandkids , all stood around enjoying the music . I was lucky to grow up with lots of music in my life , looks like you were too .

@stephen_noyce @KateGarnerMusic My grandparents were all Londoners of that generation, all played the piano, all played stride. My mum at the piano at my grandparents place, with her uncle, playing a duet, probably about 1978, everyone singing along.
