Excited to share my work with @SonEunju_ca that's finally online! We explore how perceptions of changeability may affect people's responses to inconsistency with others, and how these responses may vary culturally. journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10.11…

Excited to share my work published recently in PSPB! Our findings, which we call an 'improvement default' demonstrate a tendency for people to broadly (and often incorrectly) perceive improvement has occurred when they lack information. journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10.11…

Stephanie's work has spanned innovative attention bias modification training to differentiating cannabis-induced psychosis from cannabis co-occuring with first episode schizophrenia. We are excited to see her research career continue to take off! 2/2

We see that people in our community are tired, and rightfully so. It has been an incredibly challenging year. As we prepare to take some time off to rest and recover, we will reflect on the incredible work we have seen in our community. Thank you - We are grateful for you! #ygk

This experience has also shown us that time and again, individuals and students from underserved communities (and NOT institutions) are the ones making sacrifices to help their own. It has always been BIPoC at the forefront of addressing inequities.

What is important to remember about @Noroh_D’s story is that this not an individual failing/unfortunate cautionary tale, but a reflection of a larger, more complicated web of institutional shortcomings & the risk of venturing into EDI waters without a clear sight of a safe shore.

Another act of hateful vandalism at @4DISC (@queensu): after the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, Two Row Wampum, Métis Nation, LGBTQ2S+ Pride, and Trans* Pride flags were slashed last month, the tipi was recently damaged. 4D shared this powerful statement on Facebook:

Many of us, Indigenous and not-Indigenous, studied at Queen's and benefited hugely from the wisdom and generosity of 4D. We are disgusted and saddened by the recent vandalism. Please send whatever support you can to @4DISC queensu.ca/gazette/storie… via @queensu

My experience with the GRE: It was a huge financial strain on my family. I had to do it twice because of the anxiety and pressure around it. Hundreds of $USD. Subject test was not offered in Ottawa, had to pay for transportation and lodging to do it in Toronto. #AcademicTwitter

Acts like this remind me why it is essential to continue to work at changing the deep-seated comfort people who practice racism and hate have in our Academic community. #Indigenousandstillhere

Such a disturbing study. "What we found in this study is that people with talent that come from disadvantaged households don’t do as well as people with very little talent from advantaged households.” You knew it. But here is some hard data...
