@GWopski94248 @dantypo I live in Jersey. None of these jobs are above minimum wage unless you’re a manager and none of them would qualify you for any apartment to live independently in the entire state. He would need to be on subsidized housing if you’re luck enough to get one.

@stephythenerd @dantypo All those jobs you listed are above minimum wage. My nephew is on the spectrum, yet he has a manufacturing job and he makes enough for an apartment, a car, and savings. You don’t have to be smart , just be smart about where you work.

Am I the only one who still views minimum wage as gas money for your car and movie tickets for you and your date while you gain work experience in high school or at the bookstore in college?

$7.25 an hour is about $14,000 a year. No one can survive on that. People can barely survive on double that. We raised the minimum wage in Illinois. It's long overdue everywhere else.

@stephythenerd @kayyisa__ I feel you, Cholesterol is bad when at this amount. But it's great for the brain, it releases the sticky stuff that keeps your pineal gland from calcifying.
But I'm not sure if it's good with this AMOUNT. Too much of anything can be bad for you.

Actually, different salaries should only affect how luxurious your life is, not your food quality or ability to afford rent. If you work 40 hours at any job, your income should be enough to live in the town you work in. Thinking otherwise is an abysmal indicator of your humanity.
