@AlBiliaminu @WagmiQueen You have access to the backend, voting logs, timestamps, audit records, and every other piece of data needed to determine exactly what happened. The responsibility to account for the integrity of this election rests with the Electoral Committee, not the students.
English

@AlBiliaminu @WagmiQueen With all due respect, this issue has gone beyond private conversations. It is a matter of public concern and must be addressed publicly.
The Electoral Committee cannot ask students to provide screenshots of activities that occurred on a platform they control.

@WagmiQueen @AlBiliaminu Ifthe rules could be ignored so easily, then what exactly was the purpose of having electoral guidelines? Students deserve answers, transparency, and accountability not silence. Until this is properly explained, the credibility of this election will remain under seriousdoubt.

Too many students are reporting that their portals were inaccessible, while others claim votes were cast from their accounts. These complaints deserve a transparent investigation. The Electoral Committee must address this. #LAUTECH #SUGElection

Some responsibilities are assigned.
Others become defining moments.
Today is one of those moments for me.
May every step of today's process justify the confidence reposed in us.
Allah's aid is earnestly sought. 🤲

A total sham! The #LAUTECHSUG online voting portal was completely manipulated today to manufacture fake winners for all executive posts. The student body rejects these rigged results. We demand transparency and a real audit now! 🛑👇 @iambabtee @oyostategovt @lautech_alumni

PRESS RELEASE
NANS CONDEMNS UNJUST SUSPENSION OF LAUTECH STUDENTS AND DEMANDS IMMEDIATE REVERSAL IN DEFENCE OF FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS
"An injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere."
My attention has been drawn to the unjust suspension of students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology following a peaceful protest. Without much ado, one can easily understand why the protest occurred in the first place. Any management that chooses this path, denying students their fundamental rights and subsequently punishing them for exercising those rights, has only demonstrated oppressive and authoritarian tendencies.
It must be duly noted that The right to peaceful protest is a constitutionally guaranteed right under Sections 39 and 40 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended), which protect freedom of expression, peaceful assembly, and association. Any attempt to suppress or punish citizens or students for engaging in a peaceful and lawful protest raises serious concerns about the violation of these fundamental rights.
As the President of NANS, saddled with the responsibility of representing the collective interests of Nigerian students, I condemn in the strongest possible terms this unjust suspension. No student should be suspended or expelled for exercising their fundamental rights. Members of ASUU are not sacked for going on strike; why then should any student be suspended or expelled for expressing their grievances?
Moving forward, at my directive as the Grand Commander of Nigerian Students, I enjoin the Zonal Coordinator of NANS Zone D and the Joint Campus Council Chairman of Oyo State to immediately wade into this matter. As an organization, we cannot stand idly by while this injustice, victimization, and oppression persist.
Accordingly, in my capacity as the President of NANS, I call on the management of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) to immediately reverse the suspension of our students, who only aired their grievances in a lawful and acceptable manner. Let it be noted that the continued insistence on this unlawful suspension would compel the leadership of NANS to relocate its Secretariat to Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH).
As the President of NANS, I remain committed to upholding the mandate of Nigerian students entrusted to me, without compromise.
Thank you.
Yours in solidarity,
Dist. Comr. Akinteye Babatunde Afeez, GCNS
President, National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS)
