@CurseOfBambino @UConn6thBorough You are being defensive of unconn. U are literally doing that now. YOUR OWN COACH SAID THE OFFIATING WAS NOT AN ISSUE. You just have fan blinders on. You can cry all you want. The championship is not going to change.

@steveacx @UConn6thBorough Clearly you do care & listening to the entire country badmouth the officiating has struck a nerve. Deep down you know there is truth to it and that’s why you devote your time defending the horrendous foul calls instead of celebrating. I never had to be defensive about UConn’s 6

Michigan's switching defense was on another level, holding UConn to their 2nd worst offensive performance of the year. We need a deep dive on this Michigan scheme!

How did Michigan shut down one of the most complex half court offenses in basketball? Just watch the first possession... A Mini Thread

Michigan just fouls too much. Look at their numbers. Undisciplined teams foul a lot. Am I doing this right? 🧐

@BigBasil85 Dan Hurley the coach of UConn said it was not the fouls that lost that game. He said he did not see an issue with officiating. So looks like you are blinded by fandom. Sure there we calls missed but on both sides. You could call illegal moving screens on UConn every play.

@CurseOfBambino @UConn6thBorough Can make a highlight reel with all the fouls UConn was committing. But don't really care anymore. You are one side and blinded by disappointment. How many illegal moving screens did UConn commit on all the motion. Refs were letting that go.

@steveacx @UConn6thBorough Nobody outside of Michigan thinks that was fairly officiated. I don’t really care about averages when we can make a highlight reel of UConn players getting shoved to the floor. But if you want to use averages, it’s still +4 and -3 for a net of 7 off the avg. in favor of Michigan.

@sox1_chi @JonnyRoot_ No kidding what was May supposed to do. The roster was so depleted. Mass exodus when Howard was fired. Is he just supposed to get all freshman and hope for the best. This narrative is so wrong. Even a lot of the media members don't know the actual history.

Only two players stayed at Michigan when Howard was fired and they both sat on the bench. He had to use the transfer portal the first two years to field a team and wait for his recruits to be ready. Like other teams he will continue to fill holes in the lineup through the portal. I believe Burnett has been there 3 yrs, yet everyone insinuates he came last year also. The new way of doing things does suck, but it’s a situation of don’t hate the player, hate the game.

The transfer portal is a MASSIVE problem… There is a stunning lack of roster continuity in college sports nowadays. Michigan won the National Championship with an entire starting 5 of transfers. On Senior night in the SEC, there was one senior who stayed at their original college all four or five years. About 2% (25 total) of all college basketball athletes stayed at their schools 4-5 years. This is an outrageous number, and showcases exactly why college sports need serious overhaul in order to protect the games we love.

@samstein That was the clearest hook and hold I’ve seen this year. Plus UConn had missed 10 second violation, at least 3 missed travel calls, a handful of missed fouls against UCONN whose only chance to defend was to hack all night. Refs sucked both ways. One team was just better

why do we just assume that UConn would have lost anyways? Reed and Silas had to sit with fouls on objectively bad calls. Karaban's questionable grab and hold was a 4 point swing. cadeau had three clear no calls and probably would have had to sit for longer. Those make a difference
Jaden Daly@DalyDoseOfHoops

Would Michigan have probably beaten UConn anyway if the fouls were skewed evenly? Yes. Is Michigan a deserving champion? Yes. Was UConn squeezed in the first half? Again, yes. Should Breeding and Anderson have been on the whistle? No. All four of these things can be true.

@steveacx @UConn6thBorough They didn’t run through UConn. Despite the refs’ best efforts, the Huskies hung around right to the end. Look at non-Michigan and non-UConn fans, they’re all saying how bad the officiating was for UConn. You’re blind not to see it. Without James Breeding, Michigan is not winning.

@CurseOfBambino @UConn6thBorough No media except Connecticut media is saying the refs were bad. UConn is rank 278 or somethingthis year in fouling. That is what they do. Every media person is saying ucon mucked the game up to the way they needed. Just wasn't enough.

@CurseOfBambino @UConn6thBorough Yeah, they didn't earn it. They only literally ran through everyone in the tournament. But yeah, you are right they did not earn it.

@steveacx @UConn6thBorough You’re probably somebody that never had to work hard for anything because Michigan certainly didn’t earn it. That was probably the worst officiated game I’ve seen in my lifetime. Enjoy the gift. I guess it’s fitting that their last title was gifted on a fluke Seton Hall foul.

@TheHerd @colincowherd Congrats to Michigan they won the game, they didn’t blow Connecticut out like many thought. Connecticut is well coached, if they made a couple of more shots, they had a chance to win. It’s crazy in Michigan had five starters from the transfer portal one of them 25 years old.
