@libsoftiktok Looks like doctored MAGA slop. You transphobic bigoted losers need to get lives and let trans people live how they want to live. My 6 year old trans son is going to show you LOSERS one day when he becomes President that trans people are the future.

Halfway through filming in Prague in 2002, the worst flood Europe had seen in a century swept through the city and destroyed about $7.5 million of the movie's sets, including Captain Nemo's giant submarine. Sean Connery reportedly ran out of his hotel with one thing saved: his golf clubs. The flood was almost the easy part. Connery had signed on to play Allan Quatermain for $17 million, which ate up so much of the $78 million budget that the studio couldn't afford other big names to fill out the cast. He was also a producer, so when he started fighting with director Stephen Norrington, fresh off Blade, there was no one above him to step in. Connery later said he decided on the very first day that the director was insane, and the two reportedly came close to a fistfight on set. Connery had a habit of turning down big movies when he couldn't follow the script. He'd said no to Gandalf in Lord of the Rings, a role that came with $30 million plus 15% of the box office. That trilogy made close to $3 billion, so his share would have been around $450 million. He passed on parts in The Matrix and Jurassic Park too, then signed onto a Victorian superhero movie that fell apart around him. League opened the same weekend as Pirates of the Caribbean. Pirates took $46 million in three days. League took half of that and only reached $179 million worldwide, against Pirates' $654 million. Critics hated it, and it still sits at 17% on Rotten Tomatoes. Connery never made another live-action movie. A few years later, Spielberg tried to bring him back as Indiana Jones's father, and he refused, saying retirement was too much fun. His last film work was a voice role in a small Scottish animated movie in 2012. He died in 2020 at 90. The team-up idea itself, a group of famous characters pulled from separate books, arrived nearly a decade before Marvel's Avengers turned the shared universe into a formula the whole industry would copy. But the literary Avengers this post is celebrating is also the movie one of the biggest movie stars in the world blamed when he walked away from the business.
The Sting@TheStingisBack

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, the film that made Connery call it quits, turns 23 today. This steampunk “literary Avengers” with Allan Quatermain, Captain Nemo, Dorian Gray, Dr. Jekyll, Mina Harker, and more was ahead of the curve. This transformation still looks great.

Well Tommy Pham might know his days are numbered. After striking out in the B7, he came neck to the dugout cursing and throwing a temper tantrum by breaking his bat in the dugout. The knob of the bat almost hit the BB and shot to home plate. Get this clown outta here

@Mrstanleycup Steve from Mayfair, you're on WIP. Hey guys. First time, long time. I have a trade proposal I want to run by you. Why don't we package Nola, Painter, and Stott for Mike Trout? I'll hang up and listen.

Paying cash for a car is stupid. You dump liquid cash into a depreciating asset, its the worst thing someone can do. "I hate payments", well I'm sure you hate being poor too. Tesla Model 3 base, is 42,000 with taxes. Buy it for 550 a month. 42,000 put into the SP500 (voo) pays 14% a year on average. Which is about 500 dollars a month... At the end of the payments you have a paid off (highly depreciated) car, and your $42,000.

My dad gave me a piece of advice that has served me well: never make a comment about, or a play on someone's name. You will never impress them. You will only sink in their esteem. I met an old guy named John Lennon once, shook his hand and said "good to meet you Mr. Lennon." You could see the respect and joy at not hearing yet another damned comment about his name. Thanks dad.

Women's Basketball has triggered the Woke Right because: 1) Political conservatives see everything through a racial lens. 2) They don't care about the WNBA but feel protective of Caitlin Clark because "Black people bad". 3) Clark and Sophie Cunningham represent a new "Great White Hope" to those desperate to prove they're equal to Black people in sports, music, art, etc. Was Alyssa Thomas's suspension justified?
