@citchmook Agree it makes things difficult with your best players carrying injuries but that doesn’t look good for an Avs side to get swept in a series just because of two players. Surely should be better than that the others needed to step up.

Dumb conversation because Vegas isn't beating Colorado's best. There isn't much the Avs can do when Makar and MacKinnon are injured, two of the best players in the world. It's unfortunate Colorado couldn't remain healthy.

Does the Presidents' Trophy Curse live on? 😬 The Panthers were the last Presidents' Trophy team to be down 3-0 in a best-of-7 series in the 2022 second round. They were swept by the Lightning. The Avalanche are the seventh Presidents’ Trophy-winning team to be down 3-0 since 1985-86 👀

🚨 🗣️ :Gerard Piqué: “One of Manchester United’s biggest problems is their former players. Instead of supporting the team, many of them spend too much time criticising the club, the manager, and the current players.
It almost feels like they don’t want Manchester United to rise again because they fear this new generation could overshadow what they achieved at the club. 💣🔴
At other big clubs, legends protect the team during difficult moments, but with United, it’s always criticism, negativity, and pressure. Sometimes, you start to wonder if some of them are part of the problem rather than the solution.”🥺💔

MORE THAN THREE YEARS AND STILL NOTHING.

Rio Ferdinand with a timely reminder yesterday: x.com/RioMeets/statu… “Michael Carrick will not give a shit what Gary Neville or Roy Keane says.
Like when he was a player, any comments, any negativity, good or bad comments, was water off a duck's back, brushed it aside.
He knew what he was good at, knew what he wanted to do & would just carry on with it & I don't think he'll be any different as a manager.”
Bravo, @rioferdy5.

Did Howard Webb’s PGMOL apologise when similar goals were allowed to stand?
I agree it was a handball. I wouldn’t have cried even if it was ruled out, but why the different treatment when it went in United’s favour for once?
They don’t need to favour United. All we ask for is the same treatment.

🚨Yaya Toure on West Ham’s disallowed equalizer vs Arsenal, accuses VAR of saving Arsenal’s title hopes:
🗣️“Listen, I don’t care what anyone says, that goal should’ve stood. VAR has absolutely ruined moments like that. West Ham fought for that equalizer and somehow they’ve found a way to disallow it for the softest little touch you’ll ever see. If that’s Arsenal scoring at the Emirates, nobody even checks it for more than five seconds.
And this is what frustrates fans, Arsenal have lived off those scrappy, aggressive goals all season. Blocking keepers, crowding the six-yard box, little nudges here and there… suddenly when it happens against them, it’s ‘clear and obvious.’ Give me a break.
I was a goalkeeper, I know when a keeper’s genuinely impeded and when he’s looking for help. There’s no way you can tell me that was enough contact for the goal to be overturned. The game’s gone soft. West Ham have been robbed, simple as that.
You wonder why fans think certain clubs get favourable decisions because moments like this keep happening. Arsenal are in a title race and somehow every 50/50 call seems to land their way. That equalizer changes the whole atmosphere of the game and VAR bottled it. Absolutely bottled it.”

🚨🎙️ Rio Ferdinand on West Ham’s disallowed goal against Arsenal:
“I’ll tell you what, that VAR decision was absolutely shocking. Arsenal have been blocking and crowding goalkeepers from set-pieces all season, and nothing gets called.
We even saw it at Old Trafford when Saliba backed into Bayindir and stopped him from making the save, yet the goal stood without any complaints.
But now, in a huge title race game against West Ham, the same kind of contact suddenly becomes a foul on David Raya? It just doesn’t make sense.
You start wondering what standards are actually being used anymore because the inconsistency is becoming embarrassing.”

🚨🎙️David Moyes on the endless pressure at Manchester United
“I’ve been there, I know exactly what it’s like. The pressure of managing Manchester United is brutal — heavier than anywhere else in the game. Michael Carrick has done a brilliant job stepping up, delivering Champions League football, getting results against the big teams… but one draw, one bad result, and straight away the campaigns start, the noise becomes deafening. The players are improving, you can see the confidence coming back, they’re taking responsibility — yet one lapse, one off performance, and the fans are all over them. That’s the reality. The expectations at this club are so high that even when you deliver what’s asked, it’s never enough for long. The shirt, the badge, the history — it weighs a ton. Sometimes it feels impossible to just be allowed to do the job.”
