Exciting new work by @loopyluppi &⭐️coauthors showing that in 👨‍🦰🐵🐭 large-scale modelling of fMRI activity is largely improved by accounting for *competitive* interactions between areas (i.e. assuming that when one area is active, another quiets down) ➡️tinyurl.com/2wsr4nnf

@DrGriffithsKing I like the thinking outside the box there Dan. Seems a perfectly justifiable use of an MRI scanner......

Body mass index is associated with respiration and predicts motion in resting-state fMRI scans: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/hb… "These findings indicate that BMI should be a critical parameter in both study designs and analyses of fMRI data"

Happy science fact of the day: It's a year since the first Imaging Neuroscience paper was published, with 280 papers since then. Hence in just the first year, over half a million dollars has stayed within academia, rather than going to Elsevier [shareholders etc].

Tmrw I'm doing a STEM outreach activity & I'd like to collect some (slightly silly) data to give to the students in one of the stages of the day... With that in mind, please can you reply to this with: ☕️ the average number of caffeinaged bevs in a day, and 😴 typical bed time
