This is our first part expose concerning the antitrust of Portland City and Multnomah county. This represents 8 billion of POTENTIAL AND IMMINENT LOSS to the city and county. Every blue dot is a brick building that can't be insured(without paying 3 to 10 time premium). Can't be financed or refinanced. Can't be sold at fair market value(10 cents on the dollar seems to be the going rate). And in many cases — can't even be auctioned. There are 1,369 of them. They are scattered across every neighborhood you care about — Parkrose, Old Town, Sandy Boulevard, Division, Alberta, Mississippi, St. Johns, Central Eastside, Montavilla, Lents. The restaurants you eat at. The apartments your neighbors live in. The small businesses that anchor your block. All unreinforced masonry. All under a mandatory seismic retrofit order from the City of Portland. Almost none of them have a funded path to compliance. Retrofit costs run $800,000 to $8,000,000 per building. The buildings are often worth less than the cost of fixing them. No conventional lender will finance a loan where construction cost exceeds collateral value. So the owners are trapped. They can't fix the building. They can't sell the building. They can't insure the building. And when they fall behind on property taxes — because of course they do — Multnomah County forecloses. And here's where it gets ugly. THE COUNTY ISN'T AUCTIONING THESE BUILDINGS. Oregon law requires it. ORS Chapter 275 lays out the foreclosure auction process. The county is supposed to auction tax-foreclosed properties and recover what it can. But what happens when you auction a building that nobody can insure, nobody can finance, and nobody knows how to retrofit? Nobody bids. And if nobody bids, the county is stuck holding a building it can't maintain, can't sell, and can't put back on the tax rolls. The assessed value collapses. The tax revenue disappears. The building rots. The county spent more administering the foreclosure than it will ever recover. So they stopped auctioning them. The county's own budget documents show foreclosure auction revenue collapsing year over year. Their Tax Title program page confirms the last public sale was May 2024. The next one? "Anticipated Spring 2026." We're in Spring 2026 right now. No properties have been posted. No auction has been announced. And the last time they did sell, it was bare land — strips and small parcels sold to adjacent property owners. Not buildings. Not the 1,369 buildings on this map. They are hiding the problem. Instead of auctioning buildings that nobody will buy, the county quietly absorbs the loss. Your tax dollars subsidize the gap between what these buildings owe and what the county can't recover. The county just settled a $3.5 million class action lawsuit for keeping surplus proceeds from the foreclosure sales it DID conduct — money that legally belonged to the original property owners. They were foreclosing on people, selling their buildings, and pocketing the difference."

Oregon Primary Information (Republican) From Someone Who Is Not An Expert: Here are my thoughts on each of the candidates thus far. Please feel free to try and change my mind if you disagree with my assessment, I'm not 100% sold on any of the candidates (but I'm leaning towards Medina). David Medina 1) Very bold and not afraid to speak unpopular truth 2) No real political background previously, so he's not a part of the current Republican establishment 3) Focus is primarily on stopping fraud and putting Oregonians first. 4) Some name recognition from social media work 5) Low funds unless his recent fundraiser did something miraculous 6) Very young for a governor, no political experience 7) ONLY candidate to openly support ending VBM 8) Grass roots activist, social media commentator, conservative influencer 9) Was at J6, but was not prosecuted (peaceful activist only) 10)Oregon right to life endorses him Dudley 1) Solid Name Recognition (Former NBA player, and ran for Governor in 2010) 2) Proven chance that he can win (only lost in 2010 by 1-2%, closest Gubernatorial race in Oregon history) 3) Seems like a solid person (created charities, philanthropist, running on conservative policies). 4) No real political background previously, so he's not a part of the current Republican establishment 5) Well funded (second only to Drazan) 6) Some business experience, wealth management 7) Hasn't supported ending VBM, nor has he taken on any really controversial topics. 8) Only candidate that isn't endorsed by Oregon Right to Life. He supports abortions in certain situations, and personally is against abortion, but he has said he will not seek to make abortion illegal. Ed Diehl 1) Currently House district 17 Representative and has served in that capacity since 2023 (originally ran unopposed)--so some experience in politics. 2) Previous business background with bachelors and masters in Mechanical Engineering. 3) Face of NOTAXOR, a petition to alter a Democrat law to raise taxes and fees, and put it up for citizens to vote on. Seems great on the surface but it's mostly just for show. Does give him GREAT name recognition with everyone who helped get petition signatures or who signed it. 4) Establishment GOP (House Rep) with a weak voting record. 5) Claims to be "grass roots" but he is a full time politician, supported by ORP, supported by most elected officials (if not all), and has been supported by all (or almost all) Republican PAC's in one way or another. (That's about as "establishment" as you can get, there is nothing grass roots about him). 6) Doesn't want to get rid of most illegal aliens, just the few that have been violent--but he presents it misleadingly to make people think he will deport all or "most" illegal aliens. 7) Lied during debate about where funds from SB 2010 go and what they are used for. (This is one of the bills he voted against Republicans on, helping Democrats fund free health care for illegals, and other garbage like trans surgeries for kids). 8) Voted for paddle board tax. Claims he was "fooled" by Democrats, and now is supporting the IP to repeal it. (I'm not sure I believe that) 9) He doesn't support ending VBM, doesn't support deporting all/most illegals, and he uses words very deceptively. 10) Oregon right to life endorses him. Christina Drazan 1) Has most campaign money and name recognition 2) Is a fulltime career politician having worked in the house and senate for years, and has done lots of committee's and leadership roles. She has the most political experience, by far, of all the currently running candidates 3) Ran for Governor in 2022, only lost by 3% to 4%--so very close and proven that she has a chance to win 4) Voting record is RINO in my opinion, though I haven't found her lying on anything like I did with Diehl. Some would say her voting record is worse than Ed Diehl, some would say it's better--all depending on how much weight you put on specific votes. I haven't caught her lying on anything yet like I did with Diehl, but she hasn't debated as much. 5) She doesn't support ending VBM, and has said in public she is not an "Election denier". The quote is a bit dated, but I can't find her changing that statement anywhere so I assume she still claims no election fraud exists like all the other mainstream establishment politicians do in Oregon. 6) Oregon right to life endorses her. Danielle Bethell 1) Strong Conservative values, very involved locally 2) She is not part of the current establishment GOP and has little to no campaign money 3) Little name recognition 4) Doesn't support ending VBM and hasn't said she believes election fraud exists, but she has spoken on election integrity and said it's a "top priority." 5) Previous work in local politics only (Salem/Keizer area as commissioner and on schoolboard) 6) Small business owner 7) Does not support ending vote by mail publicly, Unknown if she thinks voting fraud exists 8) Oregon Right to Life endorses her If I could pick our governor I would pick Medina, because we need someone aware of the fraud, to be able to fix the fraud. We need someone without ties to the establishment Oregon Republican party (because they are part of the fraud). And we need someone who is a fighter. Of all the candidates, I believe Dudley would have the highest chance of winning against Democrats in a Gubernatorial race due to his name recognition, moderate stance, and his lack of endorsement from Oregon Right to Life (which would get him a lot of votes from independents and disillusioned Democrats.) I just don't think he will win the Primary. Ed Diehl or Drazan would have about the same chance to win against Tina Kotek, but definitely less chance than Dudley. Medina and Bethell would struggle to win against democrats even if they win the primary because they are solid conservatives. (probably my two favorites, so it pains me to say that, but I believe it to be accurate). I'm not saying they CAN'T win, just that it would be harder for them than the other three by a fair amount. I don't personally want Ed to win, but his campaign has been brilliant and he has played his hand well (bit scummy for my tastes, but extremely effective). If I had to guess today, I'd say Ed was going to win the primary based on all current available data I have seen. If you have any info I've missed, please reply below if you think it might change my mind or be important.
