San Jose Carjacking Spree Suspect Began Crime Wave in Sacramento San Jose, CA — The armed suspect fatally struck by a police vehicle and shot by San Jose police on Wednesday after a multi-county chase was 30-year-old Mohamed Husien. The crime spree began in Sacramento on Jan. 17 when Husien stole a red Corvette from a dealership at gunpoint. He then committed multiple armed robberies in San Jose that same day, including a liquor store, followed by more armed robberies on Jan. 18 in San Jose and on the Peninsula. On Jan. 21, after a brief chase in which he abandoned the red Corvette, Husien carjacked a green Corvette from another San Jose dealership at gunpoint. This led to the pursuit, multiple shootouts, and the final confrontation, where he was struck by a police vehicle and shot.
