Hope we got a huge fee for this.
Next season is going to be tough.

@Danny_Cable @JustSaints_ So he’s ready to replenish the cone I guess. You see it happening if you’re sad enough to watch. E.g. shot flies over the bar, keeper grabs ball from cone, ball boy immediately replaces it.
I’m not saying the ball boy wasn’t being a shit house, he obviously was.
English

@steveysey @JustSaints_ So why’s it in his hands and not on the cone then?
English

Sky massively misrepresenting this situation has not helped. There was a ball on the touchline ready to be used but Targett was trying to waste time by getting one further away.

More drama at St. Mary's! 😬⚔️

@SheridanSparkes @WinchFans Can see both sides but the FA retracting an agreed extension seems snidey to me if Portishead had the work planned. I know the ground is crap but always a nice welcome and atmosphere when I’ve been there.
English

@WinchFans It’s not a good ground by any stretch, no, but like they say they’re the victim of their own success. I’m no fan of buying your way up the league but what does relegating them achieve? I’m preferable to putting a temporary hold on teams going further up the pyramid than this.
English

95 points from 42 games and they’ve been arbitrarily relegated at the end of the season because ah nej, not enough seats, down you go. This kind of relegation surely isn’t in the spirit of a competitive pyramid?

@bristolbluegas @idewsbury He’s been brilliant during his loan at Weston, excellent attitude. Absolutely terrorised Ebbsfleet at their place.

Just chatting to Ollie Dewsbury in the gym. What a great lad he is. Hopefully we'll see him in the first team at Rovers in the not too distant future. Credit to you @idewsbury!

@Lucas_Coppin Open the ballot a week later, make people stop and think if they really want to run it or not.

As the London Marathon Ballot opens for another year, the debate continues on how we can improve the entry system for the World’s Most Popular Race 🏃♀️🏃♂️
After a record 1.13 million entered for 2026, we’re now looking at a staggering 1:20 chance of getting in the London Marathon through the ballot 🤯
How can we make this more accessible? This feels like an impossible task given the London Marathon should remain inclusive for all abilities and causes 🤔
Perhaps a max number of repeat entries? For instance, you can only run the race a maximum X times to give everyone a fair chance of competing. This seems obvious but very difficult to police. Also, charities often rely on recognisable ambassadors for promotion. This would prove unpopular 👎
Minimum number of previous Marathons completed: This would truly make London the pinnacle of Marathon running and instantly cut the number of entries by thousands. Unfortunately, London no doubt offers the most coverage for charities so it’s obviously the most desirable to run for individuals 👀
Perhaps the most likely - splitting the event over 2 days: 1 day for Charity and 1 day for Competition? This would of course double the capacity and therefore double the chances of getting in 🙌
However, surely the vast majority of people would fit into both days. Someone finishing in 5 hours is no less competitive than someone finishing in under 3 hours. How could you allocate someone to either day? 🧐
Do we really need to increase the capacity? Can we just leave it as it is and continue to see entries increase and leave it to the randomness of the ballot? 💭
All these questions and many more to be decided for the future of the Marathon 👀

@danielsjourney1 I’m thinking idealistically, I know it’s all about the coin!
English

@steveysey I don’t disagree with that but again it would boil down to money mate

The London Marathon is reportedly considering becoming a two-day event… and as someone who has run-walked it FIVE times, I’ve got mixed feelings.
For me, it’s pure magic. ✨
One city. One day. One start line. One finish on The Mall.
It’s a bucket list event for a reason.
I’ll be honest — I never fully agreed with the virtual marathon. During Covid it absolutely made sense. It kept the spirit alive when the world had stopped. But now? It just doesn’t feel the same. Getting the same medal as someone who ran through London, past Tower Bridge, with thousands lining the streets… yet having 24 hours to complete it and being able to stop and start anywhere… it dilutes something.
Now the idea of making it a two-day event…
I understand the positives.
• More runners
• More fundraising
• More money for the economy
• More dreams realised
And that part is brilliant. Truly. ❤️
But there’s something incredibly powerful about the entire world knowing that today is Marathon Day. The shared nerves on the trains. The buzz in Greenwich. The roar across the capital. That once-a-year electricity.
When you stretch it across two days… does it lose that edge? That intensity? That magic?
Maybe I’m old-school. Maybe I’m protective because it’s been such a special part of my life.
I’d love to know — what do you think?
Would a two-day marathon enhance it… or dilute what makes it iconic? 🏃♂️🇬🇧

@danielsjourney1 Reduce 5k a pop charity places and increase the ballot allocation in that case.
English

@steveysey No it’s a one day event which makes it special
English

@CallumHallett6 Also lost some key players when Bartlett left - Pearson, Waite and Skinner (who was flying and should’ve stayed)

Delighted for Scott + everyone @ Weston! 👏
They’ve had another superb campaign in the NLS, improving once again on the previous season - This year they’ve had to deal w/ a manager moving on, but giving the job to Scott Rogers has been a master-stroke.
Hiring from within allowed for continuity + consistency on the playing side. An excellent coach, extremely good tactically too. Not afraid of the big decisions. Scott Rogers is TOP.
Good squad but they’ll go into the playoffs as THE underdogs - that suits Weston perfectly!

For the first time ever, the Seagulls will be competing in the Enterprise National League South playoffs! 🏆 It also sees us get our highest-ever League finish, a 6th place finish at this level! 📈

@Ianmc22efc @hewantswealth It was pretty widely reported wasn’t it? It was in that November international week when mangers always get sacked!
English

@hewantswealth @steveysey Of course you wouldn’t be mate it doesn’t suit your narrative 😂
English

Liam Rosenior is set to receive £4m from Chelsea after his sacking. He was due to receive £24m but a clause in his contract prohibited that.
After 45% top-rate tax, that’s roughly only £2.2m in his pocket.
Still an okay payday…but a reminder of how much the government steal from us AND how black managers are treated in the game. Never have we seen a clause like this in anyone else’s contract!
Chances of him getting another job are next to NONE too!
English

@SkySportsNews So are VAR now making subjective decisions on when to apply the rules? Might as well get rid then and let the ref get on with it.
English

@MatchroomBoxing @210bam Sitting on it until Zuffa announced Benn, chefs kiss 😙

To more great nights and even more World Titles 🤝 @210bam
Fight news dropping imminently ⚖️📈

English

@Tgarratt10 The worst thing about it was the ref giving it in the first place, never a pen. Good quick use of VAR, clattenburg embarrassing himself on commentary.

@JLamps79 Is it the pitch? seems like the same thing happens every season!

From pre season onwards we have been riddled. Bad luck, players with relatively injury free careers then a broken toe x2, broken legs, dislocated shoulders, spleen injuries the works.

Following the injury he sustained at Totton over the weekend, we can confirm that Louie Annesley has suffered a fractured ankle and will be out for the remainder of the season. Wishing you all the best in your recovery, Louie 💪

This is a victory for the United States that President Trump and our incredible military made happen.
From the very beginning of Operation Epic Fury, President Trump estimated this would be a 4-6 week operation.
Thanks to the unbelievable capabilities of our warriors, we have achieved and exceeded our core military objectives in 38 days.
More on that tomorrow morning from @SecWar and Chairman Caine!
The success of our military created maximum leverage, allowing President Trump and the team to engage in tough negotiations that have now created an opening for a diplomatic solution and long-term peace.
Additionally, President Trump got
the Strait of Hormuz reopened.
Never underestimate President Trump’s ability to successfully advance America’s interests and broker peace.
