A party that once dictated national direction is now reduced to the stage for one man’s ego, bitterness, and endless hunger for relevance. From fighting his own party during elections, to publicly insulting respected leaders, to turning every camera into a personal revenge tool — Wike’s political decline has been loud, embarrassing, and fully self-inflicted.

Press Statement IGNORE WIKE’S POLITICAL SWAN SONG Today, Nigerians were treated to an unsolicited overdosage of political rascality, moral emptiness, crass opportunism, and post-loss trauma by Minister Nyesom Wike. The Minister, a public figure, funded a media convergence where he threw decency to the wind and maligned distinguished Nigerians with reckless abandon. The session was “full of sound and fury, signifying nothing”. That show of shame deserves no response; hence, this statement is therefore not a response to his tirade, which is indeed his political swan song and the last kicks of a dying horse. This statement is rather a profuse apology to Nigerians for offering a platform to a person whose conduct, speeches, and reasoning have become not just a national but an international disgrace. We must acknowledge that if we did not lend our platform to make him a Chairman, Minister of State, and Governor, the nation would have been saved the unmitigated damage done to the psyche of countless Nigerians. We admonish those he has defamed to seek legal redress, as no one is, and should be allowed to be, above the law. As the legitimate leadership of our political party, we sympathize with Wike for the pain concomitant with the realisation that he will not and can never be the National Leader of our party, as no such office exists in our constitution; and even if it did, he, by conduct and speech, would be grossly insufficient to assume such an exalted office. We understand his frustration about the commencement of the sale of forms and activities to hold primaries and eventually a national convention where a credible Nigerian will emerge as the Presidential Candidate. This will mean that he has failed in his promise to “hold down” the party for his principal. The sale of forms is ongoing, and there is nothing Wike can do about it. His delusional boast of dealing with banks that will open accounts for us is delusional, as he is already aware that we are operating accounts of the party, which is why his group of friends are receiving money through private accounts. On the issues he raised about the judgment, while awaiting the release of the Certified True Copies of the dismissed cross-appeals, we would be glad to have the Minister tell the world what the reliefs in the cross-appeals filed by his friends were, and what the judgment of the court was. His next move was supposed to be Lagos Governor as he was consulting across the state, rebuilding the Mandate Group, and positioning himself to become Governor. Tinubu and the GAC, however, had other plans—Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat has been anointed as the next Governor of Lagos. Then came January 2025. Over two-thirds of Obasa's own colleagues voted to impeach him — accusing him of gross misconduct and abuse of office. The man who was supposed to be the godfather of the House had been thrown out by the people he presided over. Tinubu intervened and got him reinstated, but he came back a smaller man. With his chance to become Governor gone, Obasa tried to pivot to the Lagos West Senate seat. That door has also been shut as the GAC endorsed incumbent Senator Idiat Adebule as their consensus candidate. So where does Obasa go from here? Sources say Tinubu has pointed him toward the Agege Federal Constituency House of Reps seat — the same Agege where he started his career in 2007. But even that isn't straightforward. The constituency has reportedly already been zoned to Egunjobi — one of Obasa's own political godsons. And his current Assembly seat is being eyed by Gbenga Abiola another one of his "boys". The men Obasa built are now the ones blocking his path. While Mudashiru Obasa's political runway shrinks, the Obasa name isn't going anywhere in Agege. His son, Abdul-Ganiyu 'Vinod' Obasa, is already the LGA Chairman with some speculation he might be groomed by Lagos leaders for a higher political office. Has Mudashiru Obasa's influence ended in Lagos politics? Only time will tell.

We’ll Not Remove First Lady Oluremi Tinubu As An Ordained Pastor In The RCCG - Adeboye The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has stated that Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, will not be removed from her position as an ordained pastor in the church. Speaking during the monthly Holy Ghost Service today, Adeboye explained that Oluremi Tinubu was ordained as an Assistant Pastor more than ten years ago, long before her husband, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, showed any intention of running for the presidency. He emphasised that the First Lady went through the full process of ordination and has not violated any of the church’s guidelines. He added that the church will not bow to external pressure calling for her removal.
