Ik las dat blad in 2020 nog, totdat 'Arts en Auto', net zoals zowat alle media, helemaal in de pas ging lopen en kritiekloos de maatregelen propageerde en Enzlin het zelfs over 'wappies' had. Ik schreef daar destijds een onderstaande mail over. Dat was vlak nadat er een glossy reportage van Hugo de Jonge in het blad stond, het was in het jaar van de Coronaprikcampagnes en de campagne 'ik stroop mijn mouw op'. Maar er is meer en dat geeft een mooi inkijkje in wat er destijds gebeurde als je je kritisch uitsprak als huisarts. Vlak na mijn tweede interview bij de Nieuwe Wereld in december 2023 zette Enzlin mij als psychisch labiel neer in reactie op een huisarts die me de afgelopen jaren regelmatig zwart maakte. Er waren de afgelopen jaren meerdere medici die me bijna dagelijks belachelijk maakten. Sommigen zijn gestopt met twitter, maar de impact op mijn privé-leven was gigantisch. Marjan Enzlin deed hieraan mee, ook al staat in haar profiel dat ze Vertrouwenspersoon Ongewenste omgangsvormen is. Over de reden kan ik alleen maar gissen. Het tij lijkt momenteel te keren. Er komt eindelijk aandacht voor de schade en de slachtoffers van het Coronabeleid. Ik blijf me wel afvragen wat veel mensen bezielde. Om anderen als wappie weg te zetten. Om anderen de maat te nemen als ze geen Coronaprik namen. Om, als medici, zich als één man (gelukkig niet letterlijk) op één huisarts te storten die kritisch was en tegen de consensus inging. Om als medici gezamenlijk een huisarts te melden bij de Inspectie, zodat ze een lesje geleerd zou krijgen en weer netjes in het gareel zou gaan lopen. Maar deze posts van eerder geven wel een mooi beeld van het klimaat in de medische wereld. Enzlin en Koopmans blazen nog steeds hoog van de toren. Doen nog steeds alsof het normaal was om de hele Nederlandse samenleving op slot te doen vanwege een virus. Het was niet normaal. De impact was gigantisch. We krijgen misschien nooit antwoord hoe dit kon gebeuren. Maar ik denk dat één van de redenen is dat mensen niet genoeg moed hadden om zich uit te spreken.
