The total number of objects in space is on a steep incline. The collision of satellites/space junk with other objects in space will create a series of cascading collisions which will produce more space junk, thus rendering the orbits around Earth unusable in the future.

STM is getting a prominent place in European space policymaking. In the past two years, several key European stakeholders have started multiple initiatives and published multiple policy-related documents addressing STM, space safety and space sustainability.

On May 12th, the EUSTM team finally met for a technical workshop at GMV premises in Madrid (Spain). The mission of EUSTM is to analyze the current STM capabilities and deliver guidelines and recommendations to support the definition of a future European STM capability🚀🛰️
