@stoopiboi @ExnerPirot huge backlog - industry is not doing nearly enough - just dragging their feet while the soil, water and air are poisoned multi-billion dollar profits though - go figure

The oil sector statements coming in now. 1. Oilsands Alliance "The announced industrial carbon tax, while lower than the current industrial carbon tax, still maintains uncompetitive costs on the Canadian oil sands industry.  No other major oil producing nation faces a similar tax. The MOU states an objective to reduce the carbon emissions intensity of Canadian heavy oil production to best in class in terms of the average for heavy oil by 2050.  As set out in Canada’s 2025 budget, the Canadian oil industry has a carbon emissions intensity that is already below the global average. “Oil Sands Alliance is committed to advancing the Pathways carbon capture and storage project provided the necessary regulatory and fiscal terms are in place, to support the project and new oil sands growth in Canada,” said Oil Sands Alliance President Kendall Dilling. “An industrial carbon tax only adds uncompetitive costs to industry on top of the costs of a carbon capture project.” oilsandsalliance.ca/news/oil-sands…

@RayMcDo52209957 @ExnerPirot Total oil and gas liabilities are 260 Billion so the orphaned liability of 1 billion is minuscule and and paid for by industry

@MarcNixon24 Canada produces 1.5% of global emissions. 🌍 We destroyed our economy to fix 1.5% of a problem the other 98.5% refused to address. 😳 That’s not environmentalism. That’s economic self-harm with a green sticker on it. 💀🇨🇦 #CdnPoli #ElbowsUp #NetZero

It’s hard to believe millions of Canadians have been convinced that 400 parts per 1,000,000 of CO2 means we should dismantle our economy, cripple our energy sector & march blindly toward Net Zero Meanwhile at roughly 235 ppm plant life dies We’ve reached ideological extremism

INSANE. Mark Carney wants Canadians to tie their retirement savings into a sovereign wealth fund backing his Net Zero “nation building” projects… Yet reportedly only 0.5% of his own net worth is invested in Canada. If it’s such a guaranteed success… why isn’t HE all in

The Hibachi chef didn't just understand the assignment; he rewrote the syllabus. I came for the fried rice, but I stayed for the Shaggy cover. This is the level of enthusiasm I need in my life every single day. If your chef isn't dropping bars while flipping shrimp, are you even out to dinner? 10/10 service. No notes.

Do you ever wonder why PM Carney has no interest in “decarbonizing” the two varieties of coal we export to Asia? Why he only targets the oil and gas industry with his punitive carbon tax?

Looking at oil futures. I see West Texas Intermediate, Western Canada Select, Brent, Dubai, Arab Heavy, others but for the life of me I can’t find any Decarbonized crude. What did you mean @MarkJCarney?

Today Prime Minister @MarkJCarney and I made significant progress towards reaching an agreement on a west coast pipeline and carbon pricing that will protect Alberta ratepayers and businesses, and result in hundreds of billions of new investment in the Alberta and Canadian economies.  Although there is still some work left to be done to get to the finish line and ensure the interests of Albertans and our industries are properly protected, I am now much more confident this will be completed well before Alberta’s west coast pipeline submission to the Major Projects Office next month. Stay tuned Alberta :)

PM Carney is speaking complete nonsense with respect to “decarbonizing” Canada‘s oil and gas production. The vast majority of CO2 & real pollution occurs when oil and gas are combusted, not when they are produced. Decarbonization a euphemism for a scam to transfer wealth from the makers in the west to the takers in the east. Not coincidentally, Brookfield provides both carbon credits and carbon capture technologies. While the former is just government sanctioned indulgences, the latter is a horribly polluting, horribly expensive process with no economic value beyond government mandates, subsidies and regulations. None of our pitiable reporters would ever ask the PM basic questions about the environmental impact of carbon capture, or how much of a premium these Asian countries would pay for “decarbonized” oil and gas. The answer to the latter is zero. No one would pay a single penny more for “decarbonized” oil. The market, you see, is therefore purely a product of legislation, not market supply and demand.
