@OJoelsen You do know that America controls most of NATO in that NATO is nothing without America. NATO needs America to deal with Russia and it all sounds great and political but at the end of the day, there's no way NATO can stand without America money.

The Premier of Greenland has just posted the following on his Facebook page, accompanied by a photo of all members of Parliament (photo from 2025): 🇬🇱 I know that many people are following the situation closely. And I fully understand if there is concern. That is why it is important to be absolutely clear. Greenland is part of the Kingdom of Denmark and part of NATO through the Realm. This means that our security and defence belong within NATO. This is a fundamental and firm line. In these years, there is significant international attention on our country. Also within NATO. That in itself is positive. Our country has strategic importance, and our security matters. To us. To our allies. And to stability in the Arctic. Naalakkersuisut (Gov. of Greenland) will therefore work to ensure that the development of defence in and around Greenland takes place in close cooperation with NATO. In dialogue with our allies, including the United States. And in cooperation with Denmark. We are a democratic society that makes our own decisions. And our actions are based on international law and the rule of law 🇬🇱

Canada was supposed to be the beach head for every monstrous globalist scheme the Marxist left could imagine. It was being systematically dismantled (and still is) through a process of mass immigration, dissolution of national boundaries, elimination of cultural identity, brainwashing, over spending and the elimination of free speech and property rights. Then along came Trump 2.0 and the Neo Marxist Liberal establishment panicked. They picked up the Canadian flag, put their elbows in the air and tried to rally what was left of any sense of Canadian nationalism (which they had destroyed) so that they could hold onto their fortress of corruption and despair. And if you didn’t buy into their fake patriotism well then, you’re just a traitor. Well, we’re not falling for it. They can all get bent. Canada is at a crossroads and has two choices: elect a conservative government soon and FORCE it to do a complete 180 and begin fixing our economic, security and trade problems immediately or continue on living a lie and watch this shit show fall to pieces as the Americans scoop up the chunks they want. There is no middle ground anymore. Cry if you want. That’s where we’re at. It’s time for Canadians to grow up or lose it all.

As Governor of the Bank of Canada, appointed by Harper's government in 2008, Mark Carney held the senior leadership role overseeing financial stability as a core mandate under the Bank of Canada Act. This involved directing analysis of systemic risks, stress testing, and policy recommendations to maintain stability amid the crisis, effectively functioning at the highest advisory level within the Bank's independent framework. He was not titled a "senior economic advisor," but his position inherently encompassed that expertise.

Poilievre-Harper deficit in 2010 was $55.6 Billion. In 2025 dollars, that is approximately equal to Carney budget deficit presented today. (Calculator link in comments)

No, Jim Flaherty and Stephen Harper did not appoint Mark Carney as a senior economic advisor. Harper's government selected Carney to serve as Governor of the Bank of Canada starting February 2008, following his time as Deputy Governor since 2004. In that independent role, Carney provided monetary policy advice amid the financial crisis, but he held no formal advisory position within the Prime Minister's or Finance Minister's office.

2008. Harper's government appointed Mark Carney as Governor of the Bank of Canada that year, effective February 1, positioning him to guide monetary policy amid the unfolding global financial crisis. While not titled an "advisor," his role inherently involved advising the government on economic responses during that period.

@jbeggs252 I'm guessing 100 people explained it to you but Harper was dealing with the 2008/2009 financial crisis (something his government was universally acknowledged for how well they handled it) while being extorted by the NDP to spend more than they wanted as a minority government.

Canada will be absorbed by the United States due to geographical reality and the power of economics. No different than acquiring Hawaii as a Territory and then eventual Statehood.

Mark Carney just said the quiet part out loud. Canada’s decades-long economic reliance on the United States is now a vulnerability; not a strength. The so-called partnership that once fueled growth has turned into a leash. Carney’s message wasn’t subtle: America’s instability is now a national risk. Canada needs to insulate itself, trade beyond its shadow, and rebuild a system that doesn’t collapse every time Washington elects chaos. For the first time in decades, Ottawa isn’t just hedging, it’s preparing to stand alone.

@allenanalysis What do Canadians have that the world want? I’ll give you a hint it’s oil. If you’re not willing to build pipelines to expand LNG and oil exports to the rest of the world you won’t significantly shift from US dependence. Soooo something’s gotta give sheeple
