@Alex4D @alexlindsay A FCP workflow for immersive video is inevitable. Also insufficient. Apple needs to demonstrate working with partners for their immersive video to succeed.

@alexlindsay I'm not as bothered by the cut speed as you are. Although I get that it takes you out of the moment. It'll be interesting to see what style dominates over time.

@strangeglow As with most immersive... I just wish the cuts were slower.

Apple just posted their first new immersive video in 2 months. Free for everyone with an Apple Vision Pro. It's a short highlight video for the MLS championship series. After watching it, I have little doubt that immersive video is the future of televised sports.

@alexlindsay Can’t wait for the lawsuit blocking Google for reinstalling their apps on Android phones.

You have to prove the iPhone is not a phone to win this. Meanwhile, it's ok that Microsoft (an actual OS monopoly) installs Teams (an horrendously crappy video conferencing app) by default... which destroys innovation in what has become a core technology for work and education.

I'm going to call it... using profile shots to cut around interview edits has a officially move from "accepted practice" to "old school". With the advent of Zoom meetings and jump cuts... profile shots just feel really stale and... a little weird.

@alexlindsay @jasonhowell Same for me. And I was already to buy one. There's definitely an opportunity for Blackmagic. I'd be happy to have something that plugs into HDMI out of an ATEM and handles the video flip. Seems like the perfect next step for small studio setups.

@alexlindsay @jasonhowell Speaking of the interrotron, the Elgato Prompter is so close to a modern day interrotron. Sad it doesn't have an HDMI in for the ATEM.

I had the best time at the Whose Line Live show, and the super nice usher in our area moved us to the floor because my parents couldn’t hear. Finally crossed off a bucket list item of seeing Ryan Stiles live!
