This is what the @UPDFspokespersn officers did to a civilian at Lagot on the command of afande Odong Button and GISU Okuri. What kind of country is this? Armed men with heavy sticks equivalent to loggs hitting repeatedly a man bundled with ropes! Really? @PoliceUg @EURightsAgency

#JustIn: UGANDA PROTECTS THE POWERFUL—BUT ABANDONS ITS POLICE When it rains, some @PoliceUg barracks flood. Roofs leak, sewage overflows, and officers’ families fight to save mattresses, clothes and schoolbooks. Yet these same officers are ordered to guard politicians, protect government buildings and maintain “law and order.” How can a government demand loyalty from officers while housing their families in neglect? Police officers are not disposable tools. Their children deserve safe homes too. Repair the barracks. Stop the excuses. End the humiliation. #UgandaPolice #PoliceBarracks #UgandaPolitics #GovernmentNeglect #PoliceWelfare #AccountabilityNow #EndTheNeglect #HumanDignity #SpeakUpUganda #UgandaMustChange #HumanDignityMatters

#JustIn: Government Failure as Elephants Destroy Northern Farms More than 200 elephants have reportedly destroyed crops across Agago, Kitgum, Nwoya, Karenga and Kaabong, leaving families at risk of hunger during a prolonged dry spell. While communities count their losses, government is still talking about expanding electric fencing and telling victims to report cases for compensation. For affected farmers, that response is too little, too late. #Uganda #Kampala #Uganda256 #TrendingUganda #ReelsUganda

For how long is the country going to remain mute about the plight of the Kjongs? The name Karamoja only appears on the lips of elites when talking about Marble, gold, copper, uranium, etc BUT never when it comes to famine, humanitarian needs. We need a Permanent solution to this Karamoja disaster.

#JustIn: This is one of the nastiest roads in Acholi subregion. This road is located in Lamwo District, it goes through Lukung TC - Ngom Oromo Town - upto South Sudan border. Accidents occur on this road almost everyday, be it dry season or wet season, you either find a trailer has overturned, a lorry carrying market venders has overturned, or someone riding a motor bike has fractured his or her leg. I remember during the 2021 presidential campaign while Cruising through this same road enroute to Lamwo District HQ where H.E @HEBobiwine was to address a rally, we almost got an accident on this spot, we had to drive through the bushes for kilometres. The question is, where does the money for maintaining this road go? Has UNRA abandoned this road? What's really happening in this country?

#JustIn: Have you heard of "looking for the road on the road while driving?" Well, this road at Losakucha parish kapeta sub county - Kotido District - Karamoja Subregion, has it all. Here the locals are using locally available stones to fix this road since the Gov't has failed to work on it for the last 14years, yet its vital route for this community's survival.

These documents, publicized under America's public disclosure laws, reveal that the Museveni regime is busy hiring foreign agents in Washington DC to white wash its battered image before the world. According to the documents, the regime is executing agreements with American lobbyists to engage American legislators, NGOs, the media, and others on its behalf. But it's too late because the truth about Uganda is already out and absolutely nothing the regime does can buy it back!

#JustIn: Karamoja Is Being Abandoned People are dying of hunger in Karamoja while gold, marble and limestone are taken from the region. Water sources/ dams such as Kobebe, Kanakol, Lomario, Kisop, Kidepo, Nawanatao, Pupu and Rupa have dried out at different times, worsening hunger and livestock losses. Karamoja is not poor because it lacks wealth. It is poor because its resources are taken while its people are neglected. Hunger is killing people. Silence and government failure are helping it.

#JustIn: Karamoja Is Starving While Its Wealth Is Being Taken Away The death toll from hunger in Karamoja continues to rise, yet the region remains one of the most neglected parts of Uganda. This tragedy is not simply the result of drought or climate change. It is also the result of years of exploitation, poor leadership, and deliberate government neglect. Karamoja is rich in valuable minerals, including gold, marble, limestone, and other natural resources. However, the people who live on this mineral-rich land remain among the poorest and most food-insecure citizens in the country. Powerful individuals, politically connected companies, and members of Uganda’s ruling establishment have repeatedly been accused of benefiting from mining activities in the region, while little of that wealth is reinvested in local communities. It is unacceptable for billions—or even trillions—of shillings to be generated from Karamoja’s natural resources while its children die from hunger, families walk long distances in search of water, and hospitals struggle without adequate medicine or equipment. Mining should have transformed Karamoja. The revenue could have been used to construct schools, improve hospitals, build roads, support farmers, create employment, and establish reliable water systems. Instead, the region has been left with damaged land, deep poverty, displacement, and broken promises. The water crisis has made the situation even worse. Many dams and valley tanks that could collect rainwater during heavy downpours have been neglected and allowed to deteriorate. During the rainy season, large amounts of water flow away without being stored. When the dry season comes, communities and their livestock are left without enough water. This is not merely a natural disaster. It is a failure of planning and leadership. The government must urgently rehabilitate dams, construct more water reservoirs, invest in irrigation, provide emergency food assistance, and ensure that mining companies contribute directly to the development of local communities. There must also be transparency regarding mining licences, company ownership, mineral revenues, and the amount of money returned to Karamoja. The people of Karamoja are not poor because their land lacks wealth. They are poor because the wealth beneath their feet is being extracted without improving their lives. Karamoja does not need more speeches, empty promises, or temporary relief packages. It needs justice, accountability, and a fair share of its own resources. How many more people must die before the country treats the hunger crisis in Karamoja as the national emergency it truly is?

#BreakingNews The gun violence in acholi thesedays is so unbecoming. Below, is the lifeless body you see is of Ocen Thomas Obang (43yrs) #RIP. Resident of Laita Parish - Omiya Pacwa Subcounty- Kitgum District. He was shot dead last night at around 11:00pm by men well armed with AK 47. Sometimes i aşk myself, where does the Trillions that @Parliament_Ug of Uganda approve annually for ( @MODVA_UPDF & @PoliceUg ) go? Coz like seriously, just last month Mr. Morish Ocana, a bussinessman was shot dead at Kalongo Town Council- Agago District. 😒

#JustIn #RIP afande Tonny! How possible is it for someone who has never been involved in any accident to suddenly develop a blood clot in the head? This is the lifeless body of my childhood friend, afande Okot Tonny James. I grew up with the late Tonny in the displacement camp. We went to school together, played football together, and shared many childhood memories, playing games like “Brother,” “Duro,” and many others. He was not just someone I knew; he was part of my childhood story. After attaining the minimum required qualifications, Tonny later joined the @MODVA_UPDF. When he died, his body was brought by the @MODVA_UPDF officers for burial at his ancestral home in Lamin Agiku Parish, Te-Nam Subcounty, Pader District. From that moment, the @MODVA_UPDF took control of everything and dictated how the burial would be conducted. They told mourners that, after carrying out a postmortem, they had found that Tonny died from a blood clot in the head. That was the only explanation given. No proper details. No clear answers. No room for serious questioning. They rushed the burial, buried him, and left. As friends, family, and people who knew Tonny, we are left with painful questions. What really happened to him? How did he develop a blood clot in the head if there was no accident? Why was everything rushed? Tonny deserves truth. His family deserves answers. His friends deserve closure. May your soul rest in peace, dear friend!
