@JosephCaruth @OverContentious @Sorrelish @JacksonEflin @JayHulmePoet What are you talking about? Studies consistently show that people of colour in the US + Canada receive traffic fines at a disproportionate rate to white people. May not be true in the UK where most enforcement is by camera but I am sure other disparities exist
English

@OverContentious @Sorrelish @JacksonEflin @JayHulmePoet @stringlytyped You'd think, but statistics don't show it.
English

@MarnaNightingal @JayHulmePoet Ah, interesting. In BC these days, most people carry a single provincial ID with driver’s license + health card rolled into one. You can get them separate but I imagine that’s pretty rare. But it used to work the same way you describe in ON
English

@MarnaNightingal @JayHulmePoet Right, yeah. We had those when I lived in BC as well. Called something different, and also act as a health card, but same idea. Doesn’t have a notch though, clever idea
English

@TricksyTrixie @JayHulmePoet The worst that would happen is that you get a fine, usually. But still, better to avoid it if possible
English

@JayHulmePoet As a Brit now living (and driving) in Canada, I’m slightly 😬 at the number of times I’ve nipped out without my wallet. Oops.
English

@WOB74475098 @JayHulmePoet Canada does not have states last I checked
English

@MarnaNightingal @JayHulmePoet Most people do use their driver’s license for that purpose. Or, a provisional (i.e., learner’s) license (sometimes people will get one even if they don’t plan to drive). Or, failing that, a passport. I don’t believe there is any other form of national ID really
English

@seamsay @JayHulmePoet Probably still makes sense to have it on you, of course. And I hold out hope for the one day I’ll get IDed buying alcohol so I can feel young again. But the chances of that happening are growing increasingly slim
English

@stringlytyped @JayHulmePoet I was born, raised, and still live in the UK, today is the day that I found out I don't need to have my licence on me to drive...
English

@DeetoriaDee @JayHulmePoet Wow that’s so incredibly shitty. I feel like they could’ve definitely let you off with a warning
English

@stringlytyped @JayHulmePoet I got that fine last summer. Got pulled over for the owner (my partner) having an expired license. *eye roll*. Had left my license at the house, 8 blocks away. They ran my name, saw I had a valid license, let me drive away, but gave me the ticket. 250$
English

@BookOfEly1123 @MuddyPenguins Only one I see judging anyone here is you bud
(and doing a bad job, I might add, since you clearly don’t know the first thing about Judaism)
English

@KelMarie1990 I am not even sure what “revivalistic emotionalism” is supposed to mean
English

@2amlasers @TheDukeDidIt @ambercrollo I will look out for the inner monologue thing if I ever get back on tiktok (taking a break atm bc it is addicting)
English

@IlhanMN Seriously? The subtext here is “you are going to be subject to eternal conscious torment because you are Jewish.” If that’s not the literal definition of bigotry then someone has snuck into my house in the middle of the night and replaced my Oxford dictionary with a fake
Lizzie Marbach@LizzieMarbach
@MaxMillerOH Sorry, Congressman, but these are the words of Jesus himself. “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” No one has hope outside of Jesus Christ and every knee will bow one day declaring that Jesus Chris is Lord.
English

No! Stating the core beliefs or principles of your faith isn’t bigoted as Lizzie did, its religious freedom and no one should be scolded for that.
It’s also wrong to speak about religious freedom while simultaneously harassing people who freely express their beliefs.
Max Miller@MaxMillerOH
This is one of the most bigoted tweets I have ever seen. Delete it, Lizzie. Religious freedom in the United States applies to every religion. You have gone too far.
English

@PNWSelina @KathrynGrace97 @suannelqr @LizzieMarbach @MaxMillerOH I mean, you are running to the defence of an antisemite, so idk, you seem pretty terrible to me
English

If you were curious, I'd be happy to try to clarify. But your wiccan/New Age shrine to your cat hints you may be unable to process what I said & disinterested in even trying.
You could just get a charge out of mocking people like me (or like you assume me to be) bc you're sure I'm stupid & terrible. Many such cases at present. Ah well, your error, & your loss 🤷♀️😘

English

@TheDukeDidIt @ambercrollo @2amlasers In the original usage, that should be “POV you…” then. POV is about the viewer, not who’s in the shot. But things change so
English

@ambercrollo @2amlasers Maybe this is the gen z in me but I don’t get this. The POV is you watching them do said activity.
English

@AEQEA @MikeBl815 @ChristnNitemare Perhaps it is normal to grieve that tiktok. Have you seen how cringe it is??
