@TheWapplehouse It's amazing to me that people would pay $2500 for this kind of trash
English

@travisakers I did that poop in a box thing. It's very easy and non intrusive

@TreeLakeRain Remember what Edward @Snowden said? "They usually don't expend resources on random individuals"
English

@RaminNasibov Humans evolved to benefit from other forms of communication other than language. For example, we use music from our birth as a method of communicating our needs

@Thirdworldisus @vintagemapstore oh, my lord!
I never thought of that

@vintagemapstore Very nice but would rather see pics of the squirrels!!🐿️

@VraserX They're not trying to compete with YouTube, they're trying to compete with TikTok...note they want you to "record your own videos with voice over" which is exactly what TikTok users do

@AMAZlNGNATURE In the wild, but they've attacked people in captivity

@RaminNasibov I don't know, but there weren't "coffee shops" around when I was a kid. There were restaurants, but you didn't go in one for coffee. There were diners where you could get a cuppa joe

@Hot_Pepper76 We had a similar store, locally owned, called the "Movie Place". Simple name. It had all the right stuff, plus a whole lot of indie movies.

I know it was less convenient. You had to drive there, burn the gas, walk in, and hope what you wanted was still on the shelf.
Convenience is not the same as a better experience.
I still miss this.
There was something fun about walking the aisles, picking up different movies, changing your mind, finding something you were not even looking for, and making a whole night out of it.
That was the experience.
Now you pay for a subscription, then get told to rent the movie anyway, and somehow it costs more than it used to.
Tell me I am not the only one who misses that. And if you are too young to remember this, you missed out.

@WallStreetApes Trump should just close it
Nobody uses it any more
I pay all my bills online

The US Postal Service plans to suspend pension payments to postal workers and civil servants to save money due to budget issues
It will also suspend contributions into Federal Employees retirements
“The agency says the temporary move could free up about $2.5 billion this year and won't impact current retirees in the short term.”

@mark_k yeah it definitely feels different
I'm seeing zero "conspiracy" posts (Epstein, etc) and lots of really good and thoughtful content

Nikita’s been positive for X.
But there’s a fundamental misunderstanding of why most people come here.
People come to X for conversation and for the opportunity to make friends / network.
They don’t come to X to watch hour long videos or be lectured.
X is a networking site.
Nikita Bier@nikitabier
@RadicalFalk People should make more talking videos like this on X. Easy way to get millions of impressions with basically no followers.

I’ve been told this app isn’t the same already. I’m done defending myself, as I have seen time and God do before, they will reveal everything. Every change people begged for to hurt me hurt the entire app. Arrogance will be all of your downfall. I’m sitting at the top of my tower watching the world burn.
English

@nikitabier @BillyM2k I frequently use it to answer a question. So I'd like it to do a one line answer, or to speculate
English

@BillyM2k What if it showed a tooltip when tapping it and gave you some options?
• Fact check: Is this true?
• Summarize this
• Explain like I’m five
English

@MyLordBebo Good suggestions
I'd like Notifications to be buried under "more" because I rarely look at them.

💸 The problem with X now is that they constantly change the rules, and it’s hard to figure out what is happening.
A person can’t figure out if he should invest in video editing to make better content, or if he might be demonetized for some mistake, or if quick reposting is currently the money maker, or whatever.
In addition, it’s not transparent what brings money, how much, and what does not—and these metrics change constantly.
So you can’t just make an X strategy and then execute on it against some KPIs and a dashboard to earn money, at least not until X stabilizes its model and provides analytics on monetization. Now it’s just guessing.
To b clear, I’m not complaining—X is paying people for tweeting. It’s just tough to make money because it’s unpredictable at this moment. So be patient and hope they stabilize a working model soon. They just run X with quick iterations like a startup.
Anyway, enjoy the ride and remember: until recently nobody was paid, so every cent is an extra you would not get before.
My feature requests: monetization dashboard and an author created community note, so that I can fix wrong information publicly myself.
PS: Also, commentary was the strength of X, and just slapping this commentary in a voice-over would degrade the concept of X and TikTokify it. Most people just want to read a short digested version of a thing here and not watch a video blown out of proportion out of two sentences for the sole purpose of making a video so it can be monetized. But that’s just my two cents.
