My statement re Prohibiting the Latin Patriarch of entering Church of Holy Sepulcher on Palm Sunday:
While all Holy sites in the Old City are closed due to safety concerns for mass gatherings including the Western Wall, Church of the Holy Sepulcher and Al Aqsa Mosque, the action today by the Israel Nat'l Police to deny Latin Patriarch Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa and 3 other priests from entering the Church to offer a blessing on Palm Sunday is an unfortunate overreach already having major repercussions around the world. Home Front Command Guidelines restrict any gatherings to 50 people or less. The 4 representatives of the Catholic Church were well below that restriction. Statements from the Gov't of Israel indicate the action to prohibit Cardinal Pizzaballa entry to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher were for safety reasons, but churches, synagogues, and mosques throughout Jerusalem have met with the restrictions of 50 or less. For the Patriarch to be barred from entry to the Church on Palm Sunday for a private ceremony is difficult to understand or justify. Israel has indicated it will work with the Patriarch to accommodate a safe means of carrying out Holy Week activities.
This is how it happens. People get angry. People turn to the Bible to prove you wrong. And the Bible changes their minds.
Every time you get someone to open the Bible, it’s a win. No matter what.
@1979camaro350@LostMyHats@rabbriansamuel JD is an absolute savage in this arena. When I see his post I grab my popcorn and get ready for a long read that’s always packed with truth and scripture to support. It’s amazing more folks haven’t read more of his work.
If you don’t understand what actually happened on 9/11 and its subsequent fake manufactured wars in the Middle East, it’s going to be very difficult to discern what’s happening right now with Iran. Start with building 7 and work your way to today. It all leads back to the same small little group of people, CIA/Mossad🇮🇱.
Is there anything worse than a crying baby on a plane?
I wish parents would control their children. It’s so disruptive. I refuse to believe a baby cries for 10 hours. At some point this is just bad parenting, right?
I feel bad for Ron DeSantis.
He's a patriot and family man.
He was the only one who stood up against the covid tyranny, and he was never rewarded for it.
He should be in the White House right now.
@stripeshowdtx@LazyPhilosophia@lebanesesami lol! Jesus was Jewish
All of the early Christian followers were Jewish
that might be the most Biblically illiterate ting I've ever heard
To all who don’t know, protestants believe it’s a Biblical prophesy to return the jewish people to the land of “israel”. That’s why they’re obsessed with zionism. They are false Christians who have completely lost the plot
@adamdorfx@LazyPhilosophia@lebanesesami Again my man. I’m glad you believe in Christ. It’s awesome to hear. But we theologically disagree and that’s okay. I’ll pray for you, that one day you will also understand the Bible and its teachings for what they are and not a perverted version invented by Darby in 1821.
@stripeshowdtx@adamdorfx@lebanesesami Yes, Christ fulfilled the law (I have no idea why you'd think I'd believe otherwise). So, why would you use Gal 3 to show that somehow Jewish Christians no longer exist?
@LazyPhilosophia@adamdorfx@lebanesesami Of course I do. God made man and woman. Christ fulfilled the law, I think you miss Paul’s point in the scripture. It’s okay, I used to think like you. I was misinformed and learned the true meaning of the scripture. I would be A okay if I got to meet Jesus today.
@adamdorfx@LazyPhilosophia@lebanesesami Abraham had one offspring, not offspring(s). That promise was made to Abraham to bring Christ. I too once believed what you suggest. It’s simply untrue. I will pray for you.
Paul is saying that through Christ, Gentiles can share in Abraham’s promise and become heirs to it. That is exactly why he says, “if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise.”
But that does not mean:
nations disappear
Israel disappears
peoples disappear
borders, law, duty, and public order no longer matter
It means the promise is no longer trapped inside one bloodline.
The promise to Abraham was always bigger than one enclosed lineage, because from the beginning Abraham was called to become the father of MANY nations, but Israel remains the root.
It was the first NATION under god. And this is where Romans 11 matters too. Paul explicitly says God has not rejected Israel and identifies himself as “an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham.”
Galatians 3 is not the end of nations. It is the opening of Abraham’s promise to many nations. That is expansion, not erasure.
The Nation model is the only way to decentralize governance around the world, but in order to protect covenant rights, dignity and freedoms -- you need memory, civic laws, family structure and national duties that pass down so it endures over generations.
@adamdorfx@lebanesesami define Israel prior to making the argument. Scripture suggests Israel are those of faith in Christ. Gal 3:28-29, Gal 6:16, Rom 9:6-8, Phil 3:3, 1 Pet 2:6-9
@lebanesesami Zionism is modern, yes — but the idea of return to Zion isn’t. Isaiah, Ezekiel, and Jeremiah all speak of it. You quote a Bible written by Jews, about Jews, in the Jewish land — then say we don’t belong there. That’s not theology. That’s erasure.
