Maybe that’s because I was surrounded by other basic middle class kids with parents who bought their houses in the 80s & 90s, but I don’t recall personally knowing anyone who had it as bad as some of the anecdotes and data say.

Like yeah, the job market was hard after graduation and we maybe had to live at home with our parents for a year or two afterwards, but we were young and that was just the norm. I see the numbers, but I don’t personally know anyone who lost their house.

Idk man. I was 20 in ‘08. Things *feel* worse now. Maybe it’s because I was in college then and not fully “adulting” yet and Obama felt hopeful at the time, but the last decade has been… a shitshow.
