How about a national poll asking who is the more unworthy figure - Grace Tame or Tony Abbott?

Tony Abbott has blasted Grace Tame, saying she is an “unworthy recipient” of Australian of the Year. Full story: bit.ly/4rGTK0a

I always thought Tony Abbott was a pretty unworthy recipient of the PMship of Australia, and everything that he's done since then has confirmed that view. #auspol #IStandWithGrace

Australia has some of the toughest gun laws in the world and they’re about to get even tougher. This is what the US can’t seem to get its head around: the way to stop a crazy fool with a gun is to take away the gun abc.net.au/news/2025-12-1…

@PatrickRyen @ForrestsMind @bromobile07 @cdesilva23 What do you reckon you’ll be offered next year when he’s 31 with one year left on his contract? And then … bupkis. Staggers me that Essendon didn’t think it could turn 3 more first round picks into a really good draft hand.
English

"Zach Merrett trade drama a reminder that deals can no longer be judged by amount of first-round picks involved"

@bromobile07 @ForrestsMind @PatrickRyen @cdesilva23 I guess the risk is that Merrett really does "loathe" being at Essendon now (to use Damian Barrett's word)
English

@bromobile07 @ForrestsMind @PatrickRyen @cdesilva23 I can understand Merrett wanting success, but loyalty (and contracts) matter too. I've been trying to put the shoe on the other foot. If someone like Luke Hodge had been held against his will, I wouldn't have felt great. I also wouldn't have wanted him playing for the Bombers
English

@PatrickRyen @bromobile07 @cdesilva23 I reckon Mitchell has come in for some unwarranted criticism. He did his bit: Merrett wanted to cross. It was Essendon’s recalcitrance that was the problem. As for giving up future stars, that was never going to happen
English

They knew the whole time what was required.
A quality player. I.e Cam Mackenzie Ward etc.
Pick 9 this year and a genuine top 10 next year and any first rounder the year after.
It had to be able to he sold to members.
The entire strategy adopted by Mitchell and Merrett backfired. Every part of it.
Mitchell thinks he is the smartest bloke in the room.

@AFL Made a good offer, refused to be stupid, kept our future, can’t wait for ‘26

"We think that our offer at the end was a very strong and very reasonable offer."

@spitatem @lightsupleclerc The thing about Hawthorn is that it’s not about one flag, but prolonged success. Merrett, who wants to play for the Hawks let’s not forget, would be an asset next year and maybe the year after, but it’s not just about the here and now
English

@lightsupleclerc Hawks will be fine as it is, a legit threat in the coming years..But Zach Merrett would walk on and be the best player at the Club instantly, maybe win a Brownlow. A flag. It’s not a matter of need, more a matter of, why let the opportunity slip for the likes of a McKenzie
English

@cleary_mitch @HawkTalkPod @7NewsMelbourne @7AFL The centre bounce is one of the great traditions of Australian football. Sets us apart from everything else. The bounce, to start the grand final, is very, very special. What a dumb decision to scrap it.
English

The AFL has confirmed the centre bounce and the sub are both gone for season 2026.
Clubs will play with five on the interchange bench
