The Supreme Court leaks were originally defended as responding to a percieved need to "sound the alarm." That is maybe a theoretically defensible position. But it is a slippery slope: Now, leaks are defended merely because the Supreme Court is an institution of government.

I am grateful to Pope Leo for saying this. While the media narrative constantly gins up conflict–and yes, real disagreements have happened and will happen–the reality is often much more complicated.
