@stumo415 Oh wow you’re still going here? Sorry, I didn’t know I lived rent free like this

This is like when someone gets a haircut they were really looking forward to getting but it ends up looking like shit and all their friends are like "Oh, no, yeah, that looks totally fine" x.com/YahooFantasy/s…

Kyle Shanahan says that some NFL teams viewed De'Zhaun Stribling as this year's best WR prospect 👀
English

@LateRoundQB Ya, 100% clear you’re in your feelings, definitely offended
English

No I’m actually offended by the fact that teams are fucking stupid
StuMo@stumo415
@LateRoundQB It’s clear you’re very offended that they don’t value the work of you and your peers
English

@LateRoundQB I agree on the RBs, I absolutely hate when they draft 3rd round RB’s. Back to your original comment about the haircut, you’re forcing this narrative like it can’t possibly be true other NFL coaches viewed Stribbling in this way. Because it minimizes the work of your peers
English

@stumo415 Example: The 49ers now own three of the top-six biggest non-first-round running back reaches since 2016. At some point, you'd think they'd stop given their previous failures. But, no: They draft a 24-and-a-half-year-old non-combine invite in a terrible class in Round 3.
English

@LateRoundQB Player outcomes can vary greatly from your predictions, in thia case JSN was significantly better than you thought. BTJ was significantly worse than you thought. Consensus isn’t everything
English

@stumo415 Thanks for showing everyone I was two spots ahead of the market on JSN last year, when he was the biggest league winner at wide receiver. Appreciate it
English

@LateRoundQB I like JJ, but it’s hypocritical to harp on misses when he himself has tons. We can also focus on the 49ers having drafted the 2nd most All Pros since 2017, when lynch started, in the league, but we’re not.
English

@LateRoundQB Looking at your pre season fantasy rankings and a couple things stood out
Ashton Jeanty RB 7
Jonathon Taylor RB 17
BTJ WR 8
JJ Tier 1 WR 3
JSN tier 6 WR 12
As someone who makes a lot of valuation mistakes yourself, not sure why you’re picking this fight
English

@ryan_sayne @LateRoundQB That’s fair, You’re focusing on reaches without acknowledging over evaluating as well. These guys do it all the time. When Shanahan says he had information within league circles of Striblings value I just laugh that it has to be met with a snarky remark like this one
English

@stumo415 @LateRoundQB this is all about opportunity cost, not accuracy. Stribling could be the 6th best wr in the class, and Shanahan could still be wrong for doing this.

@pablofindsout @PabloTorre Hey Pablo, love what you’re doing. What are the chances one of your next stories can be a dive into what really happened with Shohei and Ippei, there is so much more to that story
English

"Bill Belichick, I am told, personally bought and presented [Mike] Lombardi with a Super Bowl ring" — even though the Patriots fired him after "a mutiny" in New England... and seven months before they won Super Bowl 51.

@TheRealMcKoy85 Explain to everyone what's inaccurate about this or my reaction video. You can't. Meticulous division of 11v11 (team drills) and move-the-ball. Context that actual football people care about. Facts only. Stop comparing the big leagues to single-A

Seahawks are 31-23 all time against the 49ers. There’s a little brother in this relationship and it’s the team wearing red.

Ugh! I really don’t like this signing by the #SFGiants. Why?
-$19M per year for a slap hitter is a dramatic overpay.
-KBO pitchers’ avg fastball is 88mph, while MLB pitchers’ avg fastball is 94mph. MLB pitchers are going to consistently blow this guy away with hard stuff on his hands.
-He crushed inside pitches in the KBO, but ML pitchers will blow him away inside consistently and his strikeout rate will soar
-KBO is the equivalent of High A ball, so they just gave $19M per year to a minor leaguer
-He’s coming off a fractured ankle and nobody knows how he will bounce back from such a serious injury
-He’s a hitter who relies on a keen batting eye, but ML pitchers won’t fear him, won’t nibble and will come right at him in the strike zone w/hard stuff
-He has very little power and an elongated swing
-Durability concerns and a slight build are a bad combo.
-He hits the ball hard on the ground a lot and that will not work well in MLB and will likely result in numerous double plays. He hits groundballs almost 60 percent of the time. This profile will not translate to the Major Leagues. Pulling the ball on the ground is almost as bad as striking out or popping up.
-Cody Bellinger is a considerably better CF FA option
-Harrison Bader would have been far cheaper.
-Lee is likely an 8-hole or 9-hole hitter, not a dynamic leadoff guy.
-He “struggles” against sliders and cutters. Guess what he’ll see lots of after advance scouts study him?
-He profiles better as a corner outfielder, albeit without much power
-he has only 69 swiped bags in his entire seven-season KBO career and that was before ankle surgery.
-Lee’s ISO was a robust .226 in 2022 but experienced a major regression to .136 in 2023. This power outage saw his home run total fall from 23 to just six.
-his swing is ill-suited for hitting to the opposite field with authority
-A quote from his scouting report: “to improve and cement himself as a serious major leaguer, Lee will have to completely overhaul his swing. Combined with the fact that KBO pitchers simply don’t challenge hitters anywhere close to the level that MLB pitchers can, Lee’s likelihood to produce in 2024 is bleak”
-His ML comp in scouting reports is Jeff McNeil. Pretty underwhelming for $113M investment. I hope I’m wrong, but this signing could be horrific.

The San Francisco Giants finally land an outfield star: They sign Korean star center fielder Jung Hoo Lee to a 6-year, $113 million contract, as @JonHeyman reports.

@Jack40734634 @JimIrsay Agree some did/do , but they aren’t post up centers , they are hybrid and stretch the floor. Traditional 3 down RBs, the ones who commanded these large contracts in the past are going extinct much like post up centers did.
