They do this a lot especially if you don’t look at your statement on your monthly due date. They usually charge that item paid no funds because they charge you bank charges when the amount is on hold or has not cleared with the merchant. So basically they charge you a fee for bank charges. Thats wrong and unethical because their system should be accounting for amounts on hold. Their explanation will almost always be that you didn’t have enough funds for the transaction because the bank charges where taken from the amount on hold. A bank system should never do that because if you didn’t have enough for the merchant the transaction would have declined. FNB is the only bank in the world that scams customers that way just so you know. Always check your monthly statements when they charge that maintenance fee. They add some additional charges. Also check deposit fees because when you deposit cash on an ATM same time they deduct a deposit fee. For example if you put 1000 you will see available 970 but come monthend you see another charge on top of your maintenance and transaction fee could deposit fee so basically you get charged twice for a cash deposit. Please check your statements on the monthly maintenance dates. You can thank me later. The amounts these guys take from unknowing customers is a lot

I opened mine 1st week of December, am closing it already because its a useless product. No benefits whatsoever for foreigners to open it. I had to call everyday for 2 weeks to get an amount on hold to be returned to the sender because apparently you cannot receive ZAR payments locally into the account which their website doesn’t state. After they returned the funds the account was left in minus the same amount deposited. Like now I owe them money they returned. Trust me, you are better off using your UK bank for transactions or opening a Mama Money account or Mukuru account. Less hassle

If you ever want peace of mind with your money, free word of advice. Avoid @FNBSA at all cost. Awful customer service, incompetence at every level & systems clearly outdated for this century. You will waste hours on the phone, just to be told its another department that handles this issue but the other department doesn’t have a customer service. And that department doesn’t email you we forward to them. Trust me, avoid this bank @FNBSA like the plague. Thank me later.

It does not have to be default option; advanced users can transfer money into that wallet, this way regular users are not affected. I got an auto debit ndirimu indrive Use case Money is automatically removed from the main wallet by auto debits, wallet gives us control over what can be auto debited NB. IT CAN BE MADE AN ADVANCED OPTION THAT CAN BE TURNED ON
