It's better to be the wisest person in the room than the smartest. People prove their intelligence by showing what they know. They reveal their wisdom by integrating what everyone knows. Intelligence can be used to advance personal agendas. Wisdom guides groups to shared goals.

So happy and excited to finally see this paper coming! Many thanks @KLabGPCR for amazing ideas, great science, and outstanding mentorship. Congrats @CodyKowalski -wonderful collaboration.

Our paper by @subhimarwari and @CodyKowalski is out today in @BrJPharmacol. We find that pharmacological blockade of Gq/11 suppresses activity of DRG neurons, their inhibition by opioids and has analgesic effects in mice. bpspubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/bp…

A gem for those who still debate academia “versus” industry. The present reality is that all in industry were once in academia, as trainees or scholars, and many in industry will return to teach, advise, investigate. The era of the One Way ticket is firmly over, buy the bus pass!

Our latest on new elements controlling #GPCR signaling to #cAMP. CRISPR screen in striatal neurons identified major role of KCTD5 in the process. It controls Gbetagamma inputs to cyclase and unexpectedly also its modulation by zinc! pnas.org/content/119/1/…

सफल होने के लिए परिवार और दोस्तों की ज़रूरत होती है. पर महान बनने के लिए दुश्मनों और आपको चुनौती देने वालों की ज़रूरत होती है.

The pangolin #coronavirus was highly similar to #SARSCoV2 in several key proteins, including a remarkably similar spike protein RBD that differs from the SARS-CoV-2 RBD at only ONE amino acid position out of ~457 amino acids. (3/5)

A key piece of the #COVID19 #SARSCoV2 origin puzzle emerges: where did the virus's unusual spike protein RBD—the receptor-binding domain that engages human ACE2 protein and allows the virus to enter human cells—come from? A new study from Shen & coworkers provides an answer.(1/5)
