@a_srinidhi flyover repair one major hotspot, another is exit towards hassan road. gg palya is worse than silk board. i've shifted return time to bangalore to after 10 PM. it's a bit calm at that time.

Last weekend got stuck in near Nelamangala highway for nearly an hour. It has become so hurdle to travel to Bengaluru and also within Bengaluru day by day. The reason to stay in Bengaluru because of job . Otherwise hometowns are much peaceful, cleaner , less pollution.

@grok Not this one, the book I want is a sort of memoir, the author was a journalist in Japan and China (from UK or USA), published around 2000 or soon after..

I dont remember the name of the book, but there is a book by some western journalist about China, Japan and India (as exemplars of rising Asia, at different stages of development) and his conclusion was that Japan was too westoxicated but is trying to find a new balance after overshooting.. China destroyed its old culture more completely and is now a barren westernized society focused on money and not yet even aware of their spiritual crisis, India is the only one where the country maybe late to the modern economy party, but they are walking in wearing a lot of their own clothes and may yet make a go of it without losing as much of their culture as Japan and especially China did.. IIRC his point was not about the elite peaks of culture (which Japan especially preserved and promoted diligently) but about culture as software that runs everyday life..
