you want to know when the sun culminates and what angle it will be at your location, look it up 🤷‍♂️ the consensus on the time change is that most people want to stop having to change it…the actual time they want it to stay at is what people are split on (which makes sense)

Please, people. Permanent Standard Time. AZ will reject even a federal mandate. We tried DST in 1977 as I recall. Still light outside at 10pm in early July and it is 112F. Try sleeping in that. It's just absurd. Quit playing with the clocks. Just stop it already!

@HwsEleutheroi the issue is, some want permanent dst, some want permanent standard time this isn’t a right or wrong issue…it’s a preference issue

@Ihunanya_chi you need to read God’s word and study His nature (assuming He states) it’s the same reason you aren’t going to go jump in the Father’s lap when you die (assuming you are a Christian)

As a Christian, how would you explain this: the Bible says no one has ever seen God, yet many people in the Old Testament say they saw God, how is that possible?

My brother’s dad just died. He wasn’t a believer in Christ. How do I pray for someone who has passed but didn’t know Christ?

@farmingandJesus careful now…you might stumble on the fact that “worship” in the Scripture is mostly talking about prostrating yourself, not entertainment hour in modern-day churches

Thomas worshipped him without correction. Many bowed to him …. When someone bowed before Peter he told them to get up and worship God alone. Jesus is God and allowed worship/bowing to him. read the Bible and have the spirit of God to understand it, we must be born again to understand the scriptures.

@quickened2him yes, the time is the same, everywhere you would still need to see when the sun rises at a certain location, etc… can we meet at 2100? we don’t have a great “solar time sync” anyway…why even bother with it

every year the debates start up about dst…and it’s usually split on keeping it or keeping standard i really think the best solution (which won’t happen) is we just lock the lock to utc global…it’s merely a reference point/number…might as well have it the same around the world

@denonccs the issue is that offsets are just too far off from solar time for many regions…which change throughout the year…well we don’t eat lunch until 1500 around here…it’s basically just a different conversion i think…meeting at 0400 hours, breakfast at 1700, etc…

Obviously as a tech guy I sorta agree. However, keeping track of local nuances when traveling would be kind of a nuisance - "what time do you guys usually eat lunch or finish work here?" There would be a different set of common times to track, at which point you may as well just have an offset for the region..which is where we are now.

@jamesawhiite nonsense (better for you, etc…) “time” is just a reference number i am a proponent of universal “time” the day is going to be the day regardless…no reason for the reference point to change at all imo

It’s imperative that we revert to STANDARD, not Daylight time, for two reasons, one of which you may have never considered. You know the first: solar noon is closest to 12 o’clock all year. That means an equal number of hours before and after noon each day. This also means earlier sunrises which are significantly better for establishing a healthy circadian rhythm. The second reason is that nearly ONE THIRD of US counties are in the wrong timezone. A significant swath of the country isn’t only an artificial hour ahead because of daylight time… but TWO HOURS ahead of true solar time. Year-round daylight time, especially without recalibrating time zones, would establish this error permanently, affecting millions of Americans. We should be letting the Sun dictate the day the way God made it. Arbitrary, artificial tampering would be worse for us all. Fix the time zones and affix standard time.

I am disgusted by Calvinism on multiple levels. I frequently explain why. But Calvinist are disgusted by the idea that anyone would reject their ideas. They don’t really seem to care why.

@Be_Like_JChrist Yes, the only Sovereign is in complete control and holds every molecule of the universe together…nothing in existence operates or exists autonomously from the Creator maybe you don’t understand who the Creator is as He states in His word 🤷‍♂️

No, I’m not a worthless sinner. I’m a saved believer made righteous in Christ. It is this distinction that Calvinist refuse to embrace. Do you not believe that you are a saved saint walking in the righteousness of Christ? Has his righteousness had no impact upon you? Is it just for show? You see Calvinist preach that we’re dung covered in snow. But that is not what the gospel teaches. You keep trying to tell me that I’m getting Calvinism wrong, and then you proved that I’m not. I’m not sure you understand how much they have influenced you. Anyways, have a nice evening.
