This is Pujari Thirupathi. Sub Inspector in Hyderabad. He allowed his 6 year old granddaughter to drive a car while he sat in the passenger seat. People noticed it, stopped them, and argued with him. Then the officer angrily said, "It is my choice. Who are you to question me?" This is an offence under Section 199A of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. The videos are already available as evidence. As per the law, the vehicle owner can face up to 3 years' imprisonment and a ₹25,000 fine. A case has been registered. Now let's see whether he gets punished according to the law or receives special treatment because he is a government employee.

There is a race on to beat the last record. Being charged, held, arrested, and deprived of illegal gains are all risks in the game. Many are visibly successful, and that inspires. Most people in that state are not inclined to work as employees/contractual slaves bound by time. The rewards are too tempting.

Why do a majority of high-profile scammers and loan defaulters seem to be linked to a single state? And why do so many of their names appear to share the same four-letter word?

The government should move beyond arrogance and give people the option of pure petrol. Let citizens decide whether they want to fill pure petrol or E20. Not everyone owns a factory or has crores of rupees to buy a new vehicle tomorrow.

This is not about an individual. He and his coteries have been given adequate opportunities by all of us, and they have let us down time and again. Plus, the insensitivity and unwillingness to listen and make changes are completely missing. Where is the ethics and public character to be proud of? @venom1s It's possible to lose much more than that very easily if you are a novice. Realistically, only a few people make good money in stock markets. While the capital is one aspect, what you buy and sell and your strategy are more important. It's a game of patience, risk and agility.

@volklub The problem is not the salary. It is a lack of proper infrastructure and administration. Most teachers are either incompetent, operating by proxy, or absent.

I feel extremely sad to see poor children going to Government schools in the morning to waste their time. The infra level should be 10x up in 2026 and teaching should be the highest paying job in India if we are really serious about India’s future as a whole.

I had a thought. Since there is an alcohol prohibition in Gujarat and Bihar, and ethanol is fundamentally ethyl alcohol, isn't storage and blending banned in those states? Do people get pure petrol in those states, or is the state government allowing the centre to flout its policy?

@venkat_fin9 Yes, mileage has dropped by 12 to 15% within the city for my car. It's around 4-6% less on highways. This must be true for others as well. My car is an E-10 BS-III-compatible model.

The whole BJP ecosystem and the ethanol lobby are going after Sourav Joshi instead of answering legitimate questions. What a pathetic state of affairs. A person who has paid lakhs in taxes can't even raise concerns? Forget about him, there are lakhs of vehicle owners whose mileage has reportedly dropped from 14 kmpl to 7 kmpl. X is filled with thousands of similar posts. Stop this brainless propaganda and start addressing the real issue. Taxpayers deserve quality fuel, not adulterated fuel.

@R_N_Vaghani Ideally, since all this information is already available to the department, it should not need to be requested again. This seems to be a confirmation/verification exercise. In the name of simplification, they keep increasing the requirement. We must ask them to cut redundancy.

Since the ITR forms have been released, One question is repeatedly being asked by both tax professionals and taxpayers: Which bank account balance is required to be reported? 1. Current Account Balance ? 2. Savings Account Balance ? 3. Both ? Even some people has question that - Should balances lying in Fixed Deposits (FDs) also be reported? As of now, there is no official clarification from @IncomeTaxIndia on these issues. As a result, everyone is reporting the information based on their own understanding and experience, leading to unnecessary confusion and inconsistent reporting. I request @IncomeTaxIndia to issue an official clarification on this matter at the earliest so that taxpayers can file their ITRs correctly and uniformly.

Govt has made the PF contribution above 1800 per month optional. If you're happy that your in-hand salary will be increased then you've a lot to learn about taxation. It's another trap to tax you more, don't opt for 1800 limit if your employer is giving you an option, keep contributing up to maximum or 2.5L per year limit. The employer contribution of PF is tax free right now but if you don't want to go beyond 1800 per month, employers will add remaining amount in your salary and on that you've to pay income tax at slab rate. Tumb rule is, never celebrate any policy by this Govt that seems employees friendly, it will never be. They never make taxpayers friendly policy.
