@raphhillthec Which is far detached from the original point but I believe low weight high reps builds a more appealing body, similar to calisthenics if the goal is not to overload.

Again, calisthenics athletes build more broadly appealing bodies because they do not focus on overload, If you lift but don't overload, you dont gain bulky mass, you gain well rounded and well defined mass through secondary and stabilizing muscles being constantly put under tension. If you constantly overload you are chasing mass and chasing mass with no direction builds unappealing bodies. That is my point.

And I say this because meticulously working those stabilizers and secondary muscles in overtime does much more than lifting less reps heavy. You stood doing 50 military presses well you just kept your shoulders good without overload but you actually worked the hell out of your core and stabilizers which are aesthetic as fuck.

Lighter weights for higher reps? Or heavier weights for lower reps?

@Fallneck_Talnek @nemlocke @damifoza You can say it's wrong, but as someone who read the encyclopedia of modern bodybuilding from the 70s front to back... when it comes to exercise science.. I listen to my body. These mfs are just freestyling.

Bonus points: if I feel like any of my muscles are falling behind in mass, I just up the consistent weight. When I up the consistent weight, the mass follows. Every time. It's like I can control the amount of mass by the weight I put up consistently. Definition of that mass comes from working that weight you're comfortable with into infinity.

@nemlocke @damifoza If you submit to calisthenics athletes having less mass then you also submit to low weight high rep building a different physique because they're mechanically similar

Your muscles will grow larger to accommodate for the weight you stress them with. There is 0 discussion. I've been in the gym for 8 years and I don't chase progressive overload. You can see 8 years of gym in my definition but where's the mass? It's intentional. You're arguing with me about the philosophy I've built my physique on.

@suedekade @damifoza False. As long as you're going to failure or near failure, both will produce similar results.
