If you haven't seen this trailer yet, please watch it immediately--then watch the entire movie on Netflix as soon as you can. The Center for Humane Technology has rung the wake-up bell for all of us, for the children, and for humanity itself going forward. youtu.be/uaaC57tcci0

👏🏻 I’m not done. @LGretzky is CLEARLY not done. @ToddSmithPC & @DrFullertonMPP think they’re done, but they are not. #EssentialCaregivers #NotJustAVisitor 👇🏻
Lisa Gretzky@LGretzky

Today I presented copies of the #MoreThanAVisitor petition in the Legislature. Over 2,300 ppl have signed online. Residents in LTC, group homes & all congregate settings have the right to access their essential caregivers. Let's get the Essential Caregiver Strategy moving NOW!

No singing at school so we started our day learning O’Canada in sign language. This made my heart swell! ❤️ @D_M_Eagle @gecdsbpro

What stories are you hearing from people in group homes? With the changes in visitation bans I’m thinking of people’s mental health. We’re clearly feeling some weariness....is this light for some of you?

@Keah_Maria Got it. Thank you! I’m such a sporadic Twitter user and not hip to this. Wow - these platforms are such awesome tools for connecting and also so problematic for those kinds of reasons you’re outlining.

Morning! It’s very creepy to be added to several lists titled in some way “I’m watching you.” I’ve blocked them all but yikes.

I just had a beautiful experience. I called someone who was beating up on me on social media. I thought it would be difficult, perhaps awful. I took a deep breath and called. It was amazing. I listened to her, she heard me, and we found that we actually really liked each other.

Hey, Tweeps, got a question for you. Who's supposed to take care of adults with #FASD? As kids age out, how long are their pediatricians permitted to care for them? Are there any family doctors or specialists with training and experience treating adults with FASD?

cw: suicide . . . 10 people a day die by suicide in Canada. Normalize discussions of suicidality without pathologizing responses, calling police or criminalizing thought. Expression of thought shouldn't be met with carceral ableism, guilt, punishment, shame, isolation, or fear.

@NightShiftMD Great systems question! I worked in front line case management for 15 years and supported young adults with FASD accessing health care. Dr. Trish Windrim at SMH is a solid gold superstar with FASD.

Yes @LisaWhittingham! How many times when I’ve worked on police sensitivity training and observed the stumbling over word massage about the work of police - from “The Force” to “Service”. As social workers our code of ethics is pretty crystal clear and anti-oppression at heart!
