Breast reductions are often medically indicated and covered under insurance. Consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon can help women understand the medical indications and benefits of the procedure. #breastreduction nytimes.com/2024/09/20/bri… via @NYTimes

A close friend of mine is cancelling his voter registration today. He is convinced Spencer Pratt was robbed of the election. I explained to him that in California we count absentees first (which skew older and more conservative) and election day voters are younger and more Democratic. The slow count is largely because of policies to maximize participation, including postmarking a ballot on Election Day. Regardless, we need to figure out in California how we can get the vote counted faster and results tabulated so it does not drag on. We should make the investments in operational improvements and resources in the wealthiest state in the nation. It is worth spending the resources to get the vast majority of the vote counted within 48 hours. Right now the system is eroding trust and spawning conspiracy theories.

Narrative violation warning: Elders in my Arab village in Israel told me the richest Palestinians sold their land and left first. 80 years later, their grandkids now claim to be displaced victims. I am so allergic to victim mindset. It boils my blood. ~15 million displaced Hindus and Muslims in India-Pakistan around the SAME year. No one is trying to be a victim there. It's time to move on. "You only get to be a victim once. After that, you’re a volunteer."

Today marks Nakba Day, an annual day of remembrance to commemorate the expulsion of more than 700,000 Palestinians between 1947 and 1949 during the creation of the State of Israel and the year that followed. Inea is a New Yorker and a Nakba survivor. She shared her story with us — one of home, tradition and memory over generations.

My husband bought two KitKats one day. One was for him and one was for me. I ate mine immediately because that is what happens when you give me chocolate and expect patience. He put his in the fridge and then left the next day for a two-week work trip. That KitKat sat in the fridge the entire time he was gone. Every time I opened the refrigerator, it was there staring at me. I held out for several days because I am a supportive wife and I respect personal property. But sometime during week two, my self-control gave up. I ate it. I fully intended to replace it before he got home, but of course I forgot. So when he returned from his trip, he opened the fridge, looked around for two seconds, and.........

An independent Israel exists because the Jewish people have focused their energy on building a state. An independent Palestine doesn’t exist because the Palestinian people have focused their energy on destroying a state.

Doctors take more high-stakes exams than virtually any other profession. Over 10+ years of this, I became obsessed with one question: which study techniques actually work? Here's how I learned to study less and score higher 🧵1/11

The fucking audacity these people have. They spend years vaporizing innocent people that they regard as sub-human, incinerating and starving entire families, starting wars, and then think the world will see them as pity-inducing victims the minute anyone fights back.

While there are clearly plastic surgeons with more training and experience in microsurgery, most breast reconstruction revisions don’t require microsurgical experience. And I would hope a plastic surgeon who does not do microsurgery would disclose that in the process of shared decision making with the patient. That said, it’s unfortunate that insurance networks often don’t have rosters of plastic surgeons with enough experience in complex microsurgery or even difficult revision breast reconstruction. That should be disclosed to patients.

She was told to see a “plastic surgeon.” She needed a microsurgeon. Not the same thing. And she knew it. So she did what too many patients are forced to do, she took it into her own hands. Found a specialist. Left her network. Rearranged her life. Paid the price—literally. Just to get the care she actually needed. That should never be the expectation. Because not every patient can do this, and they shouldn’t have to. The standard should be this: •Put specialists in-network. •Value women’s health. •Give patients access to real expertise. This isn’t cosmetic. This is lifelong.

You seem distressed by your and your compatriots inability to actually make any real changes in the world. Have you considered that the entire thesis of “Palestinianism” is false and your promulgation of such a farce has been responsible for the stagnation of millions of people’s ability to enter into productive society and not live with such hate?

I want these parasites to be made to run from north to south and east to west, like they made Palestinians do in Gaza, lugging their children and whatever they could carry on their backs. Or better yet, leave and go back where they came from. I want them to feel the terror they’ve rained on the entire region for decades. I have nothing but contempt for these morally aberrant creatures.

This fundraiser is just getting started, and sharing helps so much in the early days. Over $200,000 has already been raised to support the heroes who protected our children during the attack on Temple Israel. Even if you can't donate, a quick share can help it reach more people who may want to show their appreciation and support. Please consider sharing or donating if this cause speaks to you. gofund.me/201591d9e

So what’s your take on all those Arab last names of “Palestinian” refugees - like Al-Masri or al-Baghdadi that mean - Egyptian or the Baghdadi. Maybe, perchance, they are just Arabs from other countries colonized over centuries and they have no real ties to Palestine historically at all?

Since when did alleged terrorists start getting sympathetic origin stories? After an alleged ISIS-inspired bomb plot in NYC, some outlets framed one suspect as someone whose day “could’ve been a normal day enjoying the city” and another as a “budding entrepreneur.” @EstherCKrakue reports.

@ArtirKel I considered myself to be really good at reading but it turned out I wasn't reading hard enough books. The skills that let me read a pop science book in a day are not the same skills for reading a real textbook efficiently
