I just had my brain melted. Microsoft’s new Agent Mode in Excel isn’t just a gimmick, it’s like having a superpowered co-pilot living inside your spreadsheets. You describe what you want, and boom: it automates, analyzes, builds formulas, even reshapes entire models on the fly. And it doesn’t stop there. Agent Mode is also in Word and PowerPoint. That means your documents can basically write, restructure, and fact-check themselves while your presentations design and adapt in real time. This isn’t just “smart suggestions.” It’s like the Office suite just grew an actual AI teammate who never gets tired. Honestly feels like we’re watching the future of work unfold right inside the apps we’ve been using for decades.

2) Agent Mode in Word Agent Mode in Word turns document creation into interactive vibe writing. Tell Agent Mode what you need and watch as it uses your grounded content to make relevant recommendations and offers suggestions that best fit your style.

1) Agent Mode in Excel Agent Mode in Excel, allows you to build Excel Objects, like table structures, formula syntax or pivot tables and allows you to directly manipulate the data/formulas in the grid.

This is true. Most of the use cases of ChatGPT (writing, expanding few rough thoughts, formatting, etc), when done natively, on the work environment, will make the population "feel the AI" (in Ilya's words) more dramatically.

Increasingly finding that the one thing that most makes managers panic about AI is showing them, not the advanced features of GPT-4, but rather the fact that Copilot for Office can create an OK PowerPoint with speaker notes from a document in 47 seconds. This is all real time.
