Himachal govt installs a charging point in Manali for tourists to charge phones and gadgets, and within hours people turn it into a dustbin. No Swachh Bharat or any scheme can fix this nation, only an iron fist policy can bring change.

INR is a falling knife. Change 5000 INR into Thai currency (THB)-- you will get 1030 THB. Now, try changing that 1030 THB back to INR, you will get only 2989 INR back (instead of 5000). This 40% "spread" indicates how illiquid (& weak) INR is. - No one bothers. - Media won't educate you. - Everyone says: why even bother, you will stay in Indis; spend in India, right? Wrong. That's not how it works. Just because YOU don't spend in USD or AED, does not mean that it doesn't hurt you. India is a net importer. And, is likely to remain so. Whenever something is imported, you need to pay in a foreign currency. Just because you are not paying this "directly" does not mean this payment is not happening. As the currency falls, your buying power (globally) gets depleted. Solution? if you want to travel abroad, send kids abroad, plan your retirement or simply retain your buying power: Start saving in a foreign currency. Example: invest in US stocks. This is legal. One of the many ways. Else, you might look at your SIP growth= 12% Pay 12.5% tax= roughly 10.5% Currency depreciation = 8% Net returns= 2.5-3% The new reality is: to retire in India, you need to invest abroad. The sooner you get started the better it is. India is a great growth story. Use it strategically. Don't buy it at any valuation. Buy it only when the valuations are low.

Virat Kohli keeps asking the same question & the critics keep running out of answers. Since 2023, he has scored 2365 runs in 51 IPL innings. He has been dismissed for single digits just 3 times in his last 40 innings (On average, 1 single digit score per season). 13 of his last 15 innings crossed 25, 11 went past 40, 8 cleared 50. While everyone else chased highlights, he built a floor of consistency so high that failure became a stranger. Critics called him an anchor. They said T20 had moved past him, that his method was built for a slower era. So he changed the physics. The bat that used to come down straight & still started moving before the bowler released. Up, down, tap, hover. R Ashwin called it potential energy. Rest of us called it freedom. Then 2025 happened. RCB won their first title in 18 years. Kohli made 657 runs that season, nothing flashy, just a man holding his nerve while the world wobbled. The title did not relax him. It unlocked something. 2026 brought the real transformation. He quit Tests. What remained was just a batter. No format switching, no need to keep one part of his brain defensive while the other attacked. This season he hits a boundary every 4.9 balls. He strikes at 160 in the powerplay, 140 in the middle, 200 in the death. Dale Steyn watched the opener against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Kohli hit 69 not out off 38 balls, 5 sixes, a chase of 202 done in 15.2 overs. Steyn said he was hitting aerial shots time & again. A man who had stopped fearing the fall. The attacking shot percentage tells the story. 40.6 percent in 2021. Almost 75 percent in 2026. He steps down to spin now. He lofts over long on. He was the cover drive man, the wristy flick man. Now he is something messier & more dangerous. Striking at 163 this season. Averaging 54.6, which is technically a dip from his overall average of 56 since 2023. That is the level he has set. No other batter has scored more runs than him in the last 4 IPL seasons. Not Gill, Not Jaiswal, Not Buttler, Not Samson. He has also hit more sixes than all of them since 2023. The man they called slow is out-hitting the generation that was supposed to replace him. He is not surviving T20 anymore. He is still defining it. Critics will find something new. Kohli will hear them, fix what needs fixing & keep asking what is next. The bat is still moving, The red jersey is still his. And somehow, impossibly, he is just getting started.

Urgent and heartbreaking. In Loni Kalbhor, Pune, a helpless dog has been subjected to unimaginable cruelty left outside in extreme heat, with no shade, no water, and beaten. This is not just neglect, this is abuse. This is suffering that no living being deserves. Imagine the pain of standing on burning ground, thirst taking over, fear in every breath… and on top of that, being hurt by the very humans they trust. They cannot speak, they cannot ask for help — but their silence screams. If you are anywhere near Loni Kalbhor, please step forward. Check on this dog. Offer water. Document the situation. Alert local rescuers and NGOs immediately. One small action can save a life today. To everyone else please don’t scroll past. Repost. Amplify. Be the voice for this voiceless soul. Cruelty thrives in silence, but compassion can stop it. Let’s stand up for those who cannot stand up for themselves. Please Repost 🙏 #Pune #DogRescue

Ethanol costs more than petrol, with no savings. It lowers mileage, increasing fuel use. Producing 1L ethanol takes 2,860L water, harming the environment. Then Who actually benefits from ethanol blending?

To save 1 litre of imported crude, India is spending 2,860 litres of groundwater. That's the single statistic missing from the entire E85 debate. E20 is done. The government's draft notification for E85 (85% ethanol, 15% petrol) is ready. Most reactions are either "great, energy independence" or "my mileage dropped." Both are shallow. Here is the actual trade India is making. The economic logic is real: India imports 85%+ of its crude. The FY25 import bill was ~$137 billion. Ethanol blending has already saved ₹1.08 lakh crore in forex and put ~₹92,000 crore in farmers' hands since inception. Every 1% of blending = ~$1 billion in annual savings. But ethanol is not a free lunch: 🔹 Ethanol has 33% less energy per litre than petrol. 🔹 US DoE data: FFVs on E85 get 15 to 27% fewer miles per gallon than on petrol. 🔹 The offset is octane. E85 rates ~105 vs petrol's 91. In purpose-built engines (turbo, high-compression, direct injection), higher octane recovers most of the energy loss. The catch. India's fleet is 90% E10-ready at best. You cannot pour E85 into a Swift. Flex-fuel vehicles need stainless fuel lines, upgraded pumps, 30% larger injectors, ethanol content sensors, and recalibrated engine maps. The hidden cost nobody is pricing: 🔸 E20 at today's consumption needs ~1,016 crore litres of ethanol annually. 🔸 At 2,860 litres of water per litre of ethanol, that is ~2.9 trillion litres of water per year. The annual water footprint of 200+ million Indians. 🔸 E85 scales this 4x+. 🔸 60% of India's ethanol now comes from maize and broken rice. India, a net corn exporter, imported 1 million tonnes of corn in 2024 because of ethanol diversion. 🔸 Retail sugar moved from ₹40 to ₹45/kg in two years partly due to cane diversion. The reframe most people miss: The ethanol programme is not an energy policy. It is an agricultural subsidy dressed as an energy policy. The forex savings are real. The farmer income transfer is real. Both are the actual goals. The mileage drop is a tolerated cost. The water and food inflation risk is the hidden tax. E85 will happen anyway. The listed winners sit in three buckets: 🔸 Sugar and distillery players with integrated ethanol capacity 🔸 Auto ancillaries making ethanol-compatible injectors, pumps, fuel lines, sensors 🔸 OEMs going flex-fuel first (Toyota, Maruti and Hyundai are already prototyping) Energy independence is not free. India is trading barrels of oil for billions of litres of water and millions of tonnes of grain. Whether it's worth it depends on which constraint matters more in 2040 — your oil bill, or your aquifer.

Celebrating a fake #WorldEarthDay A few days back, I lost a case in Supreme Court as a petitioner — fighting for past few yrs to save a forest. Supreme Court Order : Cut down 120 acre forest in heart of Delhi. Following will die : 1. 25000+ Trees 2. Peacocks (National Bird of India) 3. 50+ Nilgai (protected under the wildlife act) 4. Monitor Lizards (protected under the wildlife act) 5. Snakes (protected under the wildlife act) 6. 65 species of Birds (both Indian and foreign species) 7. Water bodies > NGT says yes save the forest. > But Supreme Court Cut it down > SC exclaims on this logic that the land didn't have a forest cover before and this natural forest grew on its own OMG .... > The forest grew and then the animals came and made it their home. But SC says it's not worthy of being called a "forest". > From this logic, the humans came into existence much later than the forests and animals in the world. > So who has the right to exist first!? > At a time when Delhi’s air quality is choking its people and heatwave is killing people, especially the poorest, the apex court seems to have turned a blind eye to public welfare. They don't really care about us. That's the unfortunate reality. ✓ So almost everyone is fake when it comes to saving the planet. Read More : frontline.thehindu.com/the-nation/dwa…

JarvisLabs 🤝 AI Grants India Another strong addition to the AI Grants India ecosystem. JarvisLabs, from E2E Networks, is now supporting AIGI builders with GPU credits. Under this initiative, select teams emerging from AI Grants India will be eligible for up to $5,000 in GPU credits on JarvisLabs, awarded on a rolling basis to the strongest projects. This is a meaningful unlock. For many builders, model access is only the first hurdle. The next bottleneck is compute. Teams can get started, but often cannot keep going once they need GPUs to fine-tune models, run larger workloads, or move from demo to product. JarvisLabs changes that. The credits will help AIGI teams: • Fine-tune and run open-source models • Train and evaluate AI systems faster • Build more ambitious AI and deeptech products • Extend their runway and keep building without immediate infrastructure pressure AI Grants India was created to remove the barriers that stop ambitious builders from getting started. In just a short period, the ecosystem has already grown to: • 1,500+ active builders • 100+ idea-stage AI startups • 1B+ tokens across leading model platforms • Builders from IITs, BITS Pilani, IIIT Hyderabad, Network School, hacker houses, and national hackathons With JarvisLabs joining the ecosystem, AIGI builders now have access not only to the models they need, but increasingly to the compute required to build serious products on top of them. Grateful to the teams at JarvisLabs and E2E Networks for backing India’s next generation of AI builders. Applications remain open at aigrants.in

Psyllium Husk is isaphgulla, an ancient Ayurvedic remedy for constipation among other things. The British found it and marketed it as Sat-Isabgol. After 100 years the west is waking up to this like many other Indian Ayurvedic drugs, herbs, and prescribed supplements. But nobody will mention the roots. Just like how Hindu numerals have become Arabic numbers and "decimal system."
