Sunbeth Global Installs Sustainable Solar Water Solution at Ondo NYSC Camp In a significant boost to infrastructure at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Permanent Orientation Camp in Ikare-Akoko, Ondo State, Sunbeth Global Concepts Limited has commissioned a state-of-the-art solar-powered mini-water station. The project, completed ahead of the upcoming orientation course, ensures that prospective corps members will have access to reliable and clean water throughout their mandatory 21-day stay. The facility features elevated large-capacity storage tanks, solar panels for sustainable energy, and advanced purification components to guarantee a potable water supply. This approach reduces reliance on the national grid or fuel-powered alternatives, with purification components integrated into the system further enhancing water quality for drinking, cooking, and hygiene purposes. The timely intervention addresses a long-standing challenge of water scarcity at the Ikare-Akoko camp, which hosts thousands of young graduates from across Nigeria. Speaking during the official commissioning and handing-over ceremony, the NYSC Ondo State Coordinator, Mrs. Kuburat Omowumi Bakare, lauded the corporate social responsibility initiative, describing it as a huge relief to the camp community. Mrs. Bakare, who was visibly elated, stated that her joy was boundless at the realisation of this commendable project, which seemed herculean when it was initially conceived. She disclosed that the idea was nurtured several months ago before a formal letter was sent to the organisation in December 2025, adding that inadequate water supply had been a source of worry whenever the orientation camp was in session. The Managing Director of Sunbeth Global Concepts Limited, Mr. Paul Ajiboye, who led his team to the commissioning, expressed the organisation's readiness to always identify with the ideals of the NYSC scheme. Mr. Ajiboye, a former corps member who served in 2006 at Paiko, Niger State, recounted his days as a youth corper and corroborated that the orientation camp is the first port of call for young graduates, making it imperative that facilities in the camp should be top-notch. He espoused the company's philanthropic gesture, which falls within their mantra, "safe water for an active community," aimed at providing potable water for neighbourhoods and communities. The former bank staff underscored the need for orientation camps to have basic amenities and minimum facilities for the comfort and convenience of corps members, thereafter assuring everyone of their readiness to positively affect communities. He called on corps members to exhibit servitude while ensuring that the mandate of the scheme is achieved through them. Delivering the vote of thanks on behalf of the scheme, the Assistant Director in charge of Corps Inspection and Monitoring, Mr. Kehinde Lawal, appreciated Sunbeth Global Concepts for the donation and the impression it will imbue in the minds of the orientation camp community, adding that the facility will be put into judicious use. Officials at the NYSC Ondo State headquarters have welcomed the development as a game-changer for the orientation experience. With water scarcity now addressed, camp officials can direct more attention to skills acquisition, drills, and other critical aspects of the orientation course, as stakeholders believe such partnerships will encourage more organisations to invest in similar projects across other NYSC camps in Nigeria. Other dignitaries Present at the commissioning were the Assistant Director in charge of Planning, Research and Statistics, Mr. Idalu Thaddeus; the chief representing the Owa-Ale of Ikare-Akokoland, Chief Balogun Akintunde; the Zonal Inspector of Akoko Zone, Mr. Awe Samuel, all five local government officers in the zone, as well as the camp community.
