The EU did a deal with the US, their leaders publicly bowed and scraped before Trump. Likewise the UK, Japan,South Korea and so many other countries including several Asian countries. To believe that they are all cowards or fools who surrendered is not wise. If they are protecting their national interest by kowtowing there must be a reason. Godi media putting out propaganda and quoting random economists praising India for its "tough" stance is not going to feed the lakhs of workers who are going to be laid off and the damage to the Indian economy that will happen. Yes, we will come through it but the pain will be felt by the weakest sections of society and not by those sitting in Delhi or in TV studios. There is nothing to be lost by telling the world and Indian citizens what India is prepared to give, what the US wants and where the gaps are in the trade talks. Right now no one knows, at least not officially. We are now appeasing China who has allegedly taken thousands of square kilometres of our land not too long ago. Godi media which ran weeks of propaganda about how we started the dragon in the eye now won't talk about this. Sadly, protecting the image of the Dear Leader appears to be far more important than national interest. Unless that approach changes India will continue to pay the price. #trumptarriff
