Thomas Sowell on the truth about the Great Depression: “There’s this narrative out there that the reason we had mass unemployment in the 1930s was because the market failed.” “It so happens that for the 12 months following the stock market crash, we never hit double digits of unemployment. Unemployment peaked at 9 percent two months after the crash and started going down.” “The unemployment rate was down to 6.3 percent when the federal government figured it had to intervene. And that’s when the downward movement reversed and we never saw 6.3 percent again for the next decade.” “It’s clear as crystal that the disaster came after federal intervention.”

BREAKING: A viral joke on social media to turn Trump’s White House UFC fight on America’s 250th birthday into the “gayest party in US history” is becoming real as hundreds of gay men are actually buying tickets and planning to show up shirtless, glittered up, and very flamboyant.

Follow the money on this one. It is rotten to the core. The Pentagon just lent $620,000,000 to a tiny North Carolina startup called Vulcan Elements. The company is two years old. It had fewer than 50 employees. And three months before the deal was announced, Donald Trump Jr.’s venture firm quietly took a stake in it. Here is the part the administration tried to bury. Of the dozens of companies the Pentagon was weighing, Vulcan was the only deal initiated by a top White House aide. That aide was Peter Navarro, a close friend of Trump Jr. The order came down to move fast. One official put it plainly: The call came from the White House. We have to get this done. Staff worked late nights to push it through in weeks. Deals like this normally take many months of vetting. And when it closed, Vulcan’s valuation jumped from about 200 million dollars to roughly 2 billion. A windfall for the investors, including the president’s son. This is public money. Your money. Routed through the Pentagon to enrich the president’s family and their friends. The Bush administration’s own chief ethics lawyer called it corruption we pay for. And there is more coming. A drone parts company Trump Jr. holds a stake in is also under Pentagon review. This is not a one-off. It is a pattern. The president’s family is treating the federal Treasury like a private bank, and the bill lands on every taxpayer. propublica.org/article/donald…

🚨Michael Burry just said Elon Musk and Nvidia's deal is built on fake numbers. Burry published a detailed breakdown calling the entire structure "Fugazi", his word for fake. He is alleging that billions of dollars in Nvidia chips are being hidden off balance sheets, and that American retirees are unknowingly funding the whole thing. Nvidia, the world's largest AI chip company sold $5.4 billion worth of its most advanced GPUs, the GB200, to a company called Valor. Valor is not a real operating business. It is a special purpose vehicle, a shell company created specifically to hold these chips and nothing else. Nvidia also invested $1.9 billion of its own money directly into Valor on top of the sale. Those 100,000+ chips are now physically inside xAI's data center. xAI is Elon Musk's artificial intelligence company, the one that builds Grok. xAI is using every single one of those chips right now to run its AI models. But here is what Burry is flagging. Neither Nvidia nor xAI owns those chips on paper. Valor, the shell company holds legal title. That means $5.4 billion in GPU assets do not show up on Nvidia's balance sheet as inventory. They do not show up on xAI's balance sheet as assets. They are legally invisible to both companies. Nvidia gets to book the $5.4 billion as a completed sale and record it as revenue. xAI gets full use of the chips without owning them. And the risk disappears into a shell company in the middle. Now here is where American retirees enter the picture. Valor needed $3.5 billion in debt to fund this structure. Apollo provided it. Apollo is one of the largest asset managers on earth with $1.03 trillion under management and $834 billion specifically in private credit. Apollo raised the $3.5 billion, packaged it into debt securities, and sold those securities to Athene. Athene is Apollo's own insurance company. It sells fixed and indexed annuities, retirement savings products, to ordinary Americans. When a retiree buys an Athene annuity, they believe their money is sitting in safe, stable investments. That money is now inside a structure funding Elon Musk's AI data center. The numbers inside Athene are most alarming. Athene holds $74.2 billion in reserves. It has moved $217 billion in assets into a captive insurer based in Bermuda, meaning those assets sit outside normal US insurance regulation and oversight. Of the entire portfolio, 34.7%, equal to $103 billion, is classified as Level 3 assets. Level 3 is an accounting classification that means there is no observable market price for these assets. No outside party can independently verify what they are actually worth. The leverage sitting on top of those unpriced assets is 16 times. Burry's says: Every step of this structure is technically legal and publicly disclosed. But the entire thing was deliberately engineered across 8 to 12 steps to move credit risk off balance sheets and away from any market pricing. - Nvidia books the revenue. - Apollo collects the fees. - xAI gets the computing power. - And retirees sitting at the bottom of a 16x leveraged Bermuda insurance structure, holding $103 billion in assets with no market price carry the risk without knowing it exists.

Voltaire passed away today in 1778. There are two quotes of his I always come back to: "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." and “Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.”

The middle class is the most expensive place to live, and no one talks about it. Lower income households get assistance. The wealthy use tax strategies and loopholes. But the middle class pays full taxes, full tuition, full healthcare, full everything. So you work 50 hours a week just to stay in the same place and fund everyone’s life except yours.

A single dose of doxycycline can decrease the risk of contracting Lyme disease after a tick bite from 3% to 1%. Allergic reactions to doxycycline are extremely rare - the lowest of all antibiotics. @US_FDA should make single-dose doxycycline available to the public without a prescription.

STUDY FINDS 96% REMISSION RATE OF ALPHA-GAL SYNDROME WITH AURICULAR ACUPUNCTURE With nearly 500,000 Americans now affected by tick-induced meat allergy, a peer-reviewed study reports almost unbelievable results using a little-known form of ear acupuncture. Researchers evaluated 137 patients with alpha-gal syndrome treated with Soliman Auricular Allergy Treatment (SAAT). Among patients with follow-up data, 96% reported remission of symptoms after treatment. Many who previously could not tolerate beef, pork, dairy, or other mammalian foods were reportedly able to reintroduce them without allergic reactions. The procedure is unusual. Patients do not ingest or get injected with alpha-gal. Instead, they simply touch a vial containing the allergen while clinicians identify a reactive point on the ear using electrical detection. A tiny acupuncture needle is then placed in a specific auricular zone and left in place for about three weeks. Even among patients with a prior history of anaphylaxis, 93.1% reported no subsequent symptoms after accidental—or in some cases intentional—exposure following treatment. No adverse reactions to the acupuncture procedure itself were reported. This was a retrospective case series, not a randomized controlled trial. But with AGS cases exploding and no accepted treatment beyond avoidance, a reported 96% remission rate is difficult to ignore.

RFK Jr. says HHS is working to find a cure for Alpha Gal. The tick disease that can make you allergic to red meat for life. “One bite from a lone star tick, and you could have a lifetime allergy to red meat.” “50% of the population of Martha’s Vineyard now has alpha gal.” “We’re also working on medicines that can prevent Alpha Gal and have the promise of actually curing it.” “One of those medicines is almost ready.” “We’re fast tracking it.” “We’re doing the studies over the next two years to see if we can actually reverse this devastating disease.”

If you have a Blackstone Grill, you already know how annoying that tiny stock drip pan is. It fills up fast, makes a mess, and is a hassle to clean. This woman got tired of dealing with it and decided to fix the problem herself. She built a much better drip pan system using aluminum gutter pieces for around $30. It routes everything straight into a bucket underneath, making cleanup way easier. She had to do a little modifying to make it work, but the result is pretty clever. They do say necessity is the mother of invention — and this is a perfect example. If I had a Blackstone, I’d probably be copying this hack. Have you ever had to MacGyver something because the original design just wasn’t cutting it?

Marcus Freeman shares a message on focus and why the future is a distraction. "You waste time daydreaming about an uncertain future. Who cares." "Stop wasting time on things that don't matter. The future's uncertain so focus on being the best version of you today. That's all that matters." No one wins tomorrow. They win today - one rep, one habit at a time. "Focus on being the best version of you and the rest will take care of itself." Focus on giving your best and what you can control. Because anything else is going to be a distraction. (🎥 @tbhorka)
