@celtic_jaime I had one but before that I had a Servis single tub with automatic wringer. That would probably been 1966 or so

My grandson found this in a textbook we bought at Halfprice Books. He asked me if this is “what library cards looked like”, but I actually don’t know what it might be from. Any clue? There is nothing on the back.

Lovely to hear a pure Northern Ireland voice as head of the Royal Air Force. What an honour his dedication has brought him

@capcutapp @RezaMilani This is my favourite tree in the Square in Albufeira. It’s beautiful and often I’ve sat there in the shade and watch the world go by

Ever wondered what stories a single tree could witness? We invited @RezaMilani to create a short film An Old Tree with CapCut Video Studio, translating his artistic vision into a cinematic story. Time changes, people change, but some things remain, quietly shaping every moment.

@HHodgkinFan @rthhy3 @Edwina_Currie My parents bought a house and brought 3 of us up on my dads wages alone. Every Thursday my mum, without fail, went to the hairdressers as did her friends. New clothes every week for the Saturday night out. We had holidays. They had stuff on HP. That generation lived a great life

@melaniewilson26 @Edwina_Currie I was one of those women who had to leave the Civil Service when I got married. I also only paid small stamp when I started work again and though in later years paid full stamp I do not get a full state pension.

@Edwina_Currie My mother when she got married in 1957, had to stop work, and pass her job to another single woman. I expected the younger generations to be better educated. How do they not know the social history of women’s rights in the uk workplace .The ignorance is sad

@superbowler4 @furbabygirl My dad was a bricklayer later a site manager and my mum was a stay at home mum. We were not well off. Also boomers didn't start to have kids until the 70's & 80's what you are describing was your parents generation.

How many women like me were forced to work part-time when their kids were young because there was no free child care, breakfast or after-school clubs then? Pin money hardly gave us chance to build a pension pot so excuse me if I don’t feel guilty about drawing my state pension.

Seriously? Both the missus and I have raised 2 children both working full time with no so-called freebies other than family allowance whilst both paying into pensions for our retirement, and yes we have had to make sacrifices to do so. Why are you boomers lacking any self awareness?

The @BBC really are now taking us for fools. Announced as the new Pointless it’s yet another repeat. When will we actually see a new episode? Countless outdated repeats just as the licence fee increases yet again.

@AlexKane221b @LurigDramaCDall Glad all is well. Our Health Service is fantastic but is working under huge pressure for long periods of time. It’s unsustainable and not fair on staff or patients. Many people waiting on ambulances, in A&Es and in corridor beds in wards. We urgently need to address patient flow.

I know there are problems, particularly re demand and funding, but the NHS remains a huge boon. Was in the ED at the Ulster Hospital in the early hours this morning with Indy (all well). Very busy, but the staff were patient, understanding and thorough.

@aidso67 @RobbieButlerMLA Isn't it about time we forgave eachother for what our ancestors did in the past? I mean you're using a quote from nearly 100 years ago to excuse someone TODAY receiving hostility. Appreciate this goes both ways too re what the IRA did in the past. We all need to move on better!

Having faced hostility to my Northern Irish-British-Unionist identity just about all my days. Being told that my identity as Northern Irish doesn't exist. That many can't even say the name Northern Ireland. That I'm told repeatedly my own scary experiences of sectarianism during the troubles didn't happen or that I'm a liar. I struggle to see why or how that would change in a new Ireland 🤷‍♂️
Slugger O'Toole@SluggerOToole

The British identity of Northern unionists must be respected and protected in a new Ireland… I’m going to return this month to the theme of my last blog on Northern Ireland’s continued existence in a new or united Ireland, as outlined by SDLP leader Cl sluggerotoole.com/2026/04/02/the…

Thinking back to schooldays when on Good Friday morning, before the early news bulletins, the BBC would play the hymn “There is a green hill far away outside a City wall “. Does anyone else remember this?

Dear @IrishFA When your next-door neighbour embarrasses you for having your other neighbour's anthem. And when just two of your players sing along to GSTK while the others look like captured pilots. You need to understand the universe is trying to tell you something.
