This is preposterous. Who tf does the Irish News/SDLP think should be invited to these events? Jamie Bryson represents a robust strain of thinking that simply has to be engaged with. Pretending he doesn’t exist is ridiculous. Do we want a Kumbaya love-in or a serious debate?

I don’t get it. If Hezbollah had flats in this block (unlikely in central Beirut but not impossible) why did the Israelis give everyone inside an hour to get out — including those they wanted to kill? And if there weren’t any Hezbollah people there, why destroy a building with dozens of civilians in it?

There are currently 205 enrollments in Irish Language courses in total at QUB.
By contrast, approx. 1700 of 3500 international students at QUB are Chinese.
What is the purpose of a sign? Are the 205 students currently wandering around, lost, unable to find their classes?

Very, very true. I have been speaking out on this issue at Queen’s because I feel passionately that students from a PUL background should not be subjected to such marginalisation. I will continue to lead these efforts in the coming days to maximise the ‘no’ vote.
