ChatGPT said I had pellet injuries, Safdarjung Hospital backed it, says scribe with 30 wounds.
A 28-year-old journalist with Outlook, among those injured in the July 20 protest, said knew something was off when he saw an officer deployed on law and order duty at the Statesman House near Jantar Mantar fire his weapon. @ButaniAshna brings the story of another pellet gun victim.

@sighyush And @AMISHDEVGAN thought he needs a reel to introduce himself to the "gen z"

While the protest has grown far beyond one name or CJP, and new people are joining with resolve and hope. the serious challenge now for the leadership is to figure out how to manage the fringe elements in the crowd, which might instigate something violent. this was at 3 pm today.

the "gen z" at the protest. Met Afroza at Sansad Marg today, she is 25. It was her second day at the protest. She never went to school or college herself, so the issue of "education" resonated with her more as she has kids now. She joins after wrapping her day as domestic worker.

Even as the Delhi Police denies the use of pellet guns on July 20, Sahil (19), a DU SOL student, who has always wanted to be a police officer himself, faces a threat of losing vision in his right eye over a pellet injury.

We found another victim of pellet gun injury: 19-year-old Sahil Lochab, a resident of Najafgarh, who was hit by pellets on July 20, may lose vision in his right eye, operated upon at AIIMS, 1%chance of regaining vision, his family said. Doctors said metal pellets were used. Delhi Police has denied usage of pellets, pump action guns from which pellets are fired are part of RAF’s gear. RAF deployed around Jantar Mantar under the command of Delhi Police, the requisitioning authority @ButaniAshna reports

The crowd is no more contained at jm protest site. This is from the intersection of Tolstoy Marg and Sansad Marg, meters away from there and CP. At around 4 pm. Panic and chaos also erupting briefly, while police made repeated announcements for all to move to the designated site.

Read the story. It mentions that Delhi Police has denied using pellets. Pellet guns and shock-batons are part of RAF gear, which was working alongside Delhi Police and deployed in and around Jantar Mantar on July 20. RAF is a part of CRPF. The central armed police forces are deployed on the request of the State police, in this case- Delhi Police.

🚨 FACT CHECK 🚨Claims stating that Delhi Police forces used pellet guns against peaceful protesters yesterday are completely false and misleading.Delhi Police neither possess pellet guns nor do they use them in the ongoing protest. The public is requested not to share or circulate any unverified or misleading information.

In a first, pellet guns, shock-batons used against protestors in Delhi. Part of RAF’s gear for crowd control measures, pellets were last used during 2024 farmers protest in Haryana, Manipur (2023) and Kashmir (2016). Pellets can potentially blind the target.
Though police denied and CRPF did not comment, at least one among 80 protestors injured during CJP march was operated upon at a govt hospital, pellets removed from under his eye and neck . @ButaniAshna and I ✍️
