@doqholliday We worked, sometimes two jobs to make sure our kids had everything they wanted and needed. But a lot of us did not do, we didn’t order DoorDash, we didn’t have to start our day with a Starbucks coffee, we were frugal so that we could make that house payment. Our kids are not.

If you're a boomer in your 60s and 70s and you own property and are well off but your children are struggling and can't even buy a home, what the hell are you doin? Your time is over. It's their time. Help them. Be a good parent, do whatever it is you need to do... sell the house if you need to, give them some kickbacks to help buy their first home, etc. Life is short. Be a good parent and don't squat on stuff that doesn't matter. Give them their time.

There’s a lady in my neighborhood, probably around 62, who lives alone. She has three sons. One is married with kids, one is divorced and the third is unmarried. All three have separate houses now, but none of them keep her with them. And the strange part is…she never complains about her children. Whenever someone asks, she just says, they have their own lives. I like living alone. I’m more comfortable by myself. Yesterday she got sick, and none of her sons came to see her. Another neighbor took her to the hospital. She has knee pain, cooks alone, eats alone, travels alone… and still never says a single bad thing about her children. Sometimes I think people are wrong when they say, Have children so you won’t be alone in old age. Life doesn’t work that predictably anymore. Maybe we should all learn how to spend time alone, live alone and emotionally survive alone without expecting too much from anyone. Otherwise later in life, reality can hit very hard.

As a mom it's hard for me to see dad showing tough love to my baby boy but I also realize how necessary it is for my son to learn future man of the house training & that mom won't be there to save him all the time As hard as this was for me to watch I'm proud of my baby for pushing through & completing the task that he's done may times before !
